My opinion is that you could get a lot of views but those audience are less likely to buy your products & services. They are people who just want to be silly and joke around all day. I feel like I'd be wasting my time if I ever do that.

Go after it for the adsense money. You'll likely make $1.50 per m on YT itself.

Then, direct them to your site where you have more adsesne, funny t-shirts, mugs, joke books etc.

Build your list with joke of the day free email offer.

The joke of the day is on your site. You email them the link. You drive them to your site and make the adsense and sales.

Does it have to be the right niche in order for advertiser to place their ads on my videos?

Obviously they want to make sales too, right?

For a reason this sounds alot like Facebook ads to me. It' like you're targeting specific audience and you need to get the audience to buy from you.

Is that how it works with adsense on Youtube videos?

Advertisers choose which channel or videos to place their ads because they want to generate sales from the right audience who's watching the Youtuber videos. This is the idea I'm getting here. I could be wrong though, but it makes sense.

We had a TV program called Golden Balls and the the TV presenter who go behind Men of size and jump on their backs!

Anyway he did this not to long ago jumped on a guy the size of a 7ft outhouse and the bloke fainted but Mr GB could not get way off and was crushed and is now in a wheel chair so yea real funny

To be honest they have had their day. It depends on the age of the audience. I have a page on over 104,000 and it's by posting videos that shock and get people talking that has the best engagement and views, shares and comments.

Majority of people which i have witnessed go and search for funny things as they want to give themselves a relaxing mood. No one wants to see which happens in their real life i.e. stress, working hard from 9 to 8 and so on...

people love funny videos. It's a stress burster. If you are regular then you are sure to attract subscribers. Just ensure to promote your videos properly.

Your videos will have more views.. for sure.
But on serious node, I don't think people will make any purchase of your product etc.
To get some profit what you can do - is use google Adsence
