Is social media a trustworthy channel to market an investment platform?

Hi everyone. This is my first time doing marketing for B2C, I used to do B2B before. My team and I just launched our product, an online investment platform for individual customers. We are about to start doubling down on marketing, and social media is one of the channels that I would take on as the very first step. However, I'm not very sure if it is suitable for a product like an investment platform. If yes, what's the best way to go about marketing it on social media?

What type of online investment platform is it? The better you know your target demographic the easier it will be to figure out which platform would be the best. I feel like Instagram is a good general platform for many things. I don't think you would find your target demographic on pinterest. I'm going to guess that Linkedin would be your best bet.

I agree. I've seen insurance companies market on Instagram, targeting young adults and professionals. For older individuals, I would also recommend Facebook.

I believe investment is a niche suitable to everyone so far as its legitimate.

With that said, targeting business groups on Facebook will be your best bet.

Your target market would determine the platform you'll use to market your product on social media. Since it's an investment platform i think Instagram(good), Facebook(better) and Linkedin(best) would be the best to use.

According to my experience as PPC expert, I would prefer facebook from all social media platform. I've run ad on all platform but didn't get a good reponse as facebook does.

Of course. Social networks are suitable for any topic. The main thing is promotion, if the topic was legal. I agree with the posts above that LinkedIn is the best for this platform.

Unless you are targeting the Millenials I believe social media will not be an appropriate tool for marketing investment based activities. But all the same, you can give it a try maybe you will get some results.

I would figure your essential concern would be the focusing of your social media marketing. Sprinkling your stage on young people's twitter channels won't be profitable, yet focused on campaigns on facebook may yield better outcomes.

I don't know what your meaning of 'trustworthy' is. Social media doesn't typically have a 'trustworthy' factor to it.

There's a good and there's a bad platform. If you build trust between you and your target audience then things could take off from there. Social media is definitely a good place to start, on Instagram alone, there are almost 2 billion active users.

It is not so much the channel T as where the targeted customers who want your investment platform, are at. Logically, out of 2 billion Facebook users, you will definitely find some people who would sign up for your platform. Ditto for Twitter and LinkedIn buddy; they are already there. But it is the way you use each platform that drives the targeted folks to you. Like, publish helpful free content on investing to a company blog. Share on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn with proper tags (for Twitter) and in proper groups (FB and LI). Then, engage all people who comments on the updates and share it.

Build relationships with top investment bloggers thru their social media profiles. Form mutually beneficial partnerships. Now you are cooking with gas.

These fundamentals work on FB, LI, Twitter or any social site, and people willing to invest money thru your platform exist on each site.

    Something to ponder.

I am always a bit skeptical of social media. I know more and more people deleting their facebook etc accounts.

  • What exactly do you mean by investment platform? Act as a broker for investment deals? 99.99% are useless.

Why not try your self and see? Why has OP disappeared? Happens too often here
