I have not used squidoo for a long time, in fact i think they are trying too hard with their strict guidelines. However, i decided to create a lens for backlinking purposes and this is what i got.

"Squidoo access from your IP range has been blocked, due to an unmistakable trend of spam or automated lensbuilding or other Terms of Service violations coming from the area. Our Squidoo engineers work hard to keep the platform safe and valuable for the hundreds of thousands of people who use it to publish useful, unique, curated, authentic content. Unfortunately we're unable to provide services to your IP range at this time. Thanks for your interest in using Squidoo, and good luck with whichever other service you use to build your webpages."

Does anyone knows what is happening here? I have not used any type of automated lensbuilding or what not and they still blocked me.

From now on i will not use squidoo period!

Your IP address is most likely Dynamic meaning it changes. The IPs that your ISP assigns you for your given geo-location are within a certain range. Sites that deal with spam on a regular basis commonly block those IP ranges that a known spammer has been abusing, unfortunately you just got caught in the crossfire.

I stopped using squidoo a few months ago as it has become harder to build lens for affiliate marketing especially in the really popular markets such as health and making money online. Their guidelines have become really strict lately.

Tell me about it gaz59, the guys in squidoo are trying so hard to get back the lost love from google that they are pissing off the people they need to post content to them.

So squidoo generalizes IP regions? What if there are a lot of users in this area, they will all close their accounts as well?

It's more complex than that, I also do know know Squidoos exact practices regarding the matter. Craigslist is another site that is very well known for "soft-blocking" IP ranges due to spammers.

You're always open to try to contact Squidoo about it.

Squidoo is a waste of time. Anything published on their blog gets removed for spam unless it's a lens from one of their trusted partners who disguise their links as image credits and get a do follow link for it. If you're not a member of their clique, get ready to be burned. I don't expect that site to last long. So don't cry over it.

Year ago, I set up one Squidoo lens. Just cuz I was idiot enough to think that it could make me money.

This year? FIVE drafted lenses - no go.

I think Seth Godin needs to rework things a little...
