Million Facebook fans and new site

I have a new Q&A site I launched recently. I also have a Facebook page with over a million fans. The topic of the page is related to relationships etc. The Q&A site is open to any topic similar to theanswerbank

My question is now, how to I grow the Q&A site using my page?

Thanks

Post on facebook since you have as many fans as you claim... Ask a question on facebook, tell fans to give their answers below, at the same time drop a link in the status update asking them to answer it on your site if they have a second... I wouldn't rely solely on Facebook, you should be doing SEO, promoting on other sites, etc.

share your site URL, share any new posts, attract your fans with the "status", maybe something like "hey fans, go to her blah blah".
If your fans are targeted, it will be worth it.

I have tried asking the fans with a link back to the site but they just answer on the page instead of joining the site and answering there.

Tell them by using a "call to action"!!!

Tell them exactly what to do and they shall do it!

Give them good reason to click through to your site as 1 million fans is a great asset to have within your business.

Hope you take action and test to see what works my friend...

All the best and keep us posted!!!

Like Mark said, you really need to hold their hand and tell them what to do!

    Be clear

Wow. Quite the number there. The easiest way is to just post a question/answer and maybe send them a link to your site "for more info".

First, what makes you think that your facebook fans would even want to change venues?

If you look at if from their perspective, they have a great page with a lot of people, where they are getting answers to their questions which is what they want. So, why would they want to switch to another site when they are getting what they want already on the facebook fanpage?

Imagine for a second, if the owner of this forum started coming on here and asking us to start posting in another forum. What would your response to that be?

That is probably the same response that the people on your facebook fanpage are probably going to have and are having.

What's in it for them if they do?

I am not sure your reasons why you want them to post on this others site, maybe for advertising revenue, or so you can sell them something, or have more control, etc. But what is the benefit for them to switch over? Once you figure that out then you will have to clearly communicate that to them.

How many are you expecting to switch over? And how soon?
Are you expecting 100% of them to switch over? Or are you able to recognize that some will and most won't, and are you ok with that?

Also, if you are expecting this to happen overnight that is a bit unrealistic.

Your fanpage is giving them what they want, they are familiar with it, and comfortable with it. And just like this forum is a community to us, I bet your fanpage is a community for them. And changing sites in a way is like

Just some ideas from their perspective for you to think about.

You probably can get some traffic from your fanpage to the Q&A site, but also look to other ways to build it up.

You know your stuff and are BANG ON! I am thinking about setting up a new site that it focussed on the interest of my fan page users. The page is about how to have a good relationship etc so thats the plan
