Is facebook advertising clicks real?

I've done advertising on facebook that cost me 5000 USD in two months because of fake clicks and rarely converted into real visits to my website.
any help would be appreciated.

I can only speak from my own experience. I think it depends on what you are advertising and who you are advertising to. I've recently (since May) used FB ads for the first time. It's been hugely successful for me and very cheap (approx 11 UK pennies per click). I have a hobby related site and I've been able to target specific countries and people who have specifically said they are interested in this hobby.

I suspect that diet, make money and other Clickbank products will fail there. People want to see ads that interest them.

I second her opinion... FB advertising might not be working for your niche or maybe your sales funnel or conversion rate is having some problem.

      just my 2 cents

How do you know those were fake clicks?

Reason i am asking is that regular people have no way, as far as i know, to benefit from clicking on those ads (like adsense fake clicks)...so it must be Facebook?!?

Second: I had a $50 coupon and tried some advertising and was getting nice click CTR but NO conversion! I targeted really well!

I doubt they were fake clicks. They either weren't targeted, or your
    website simply did not "convert".

i have put an add for my website selling flowers online, i've setup the plan and include some countries, interests..etc and placed 10 cents for each click as per facebook recommendation. Then i've started to get reports of having hundreds and hundreds of clicks, however when my webmaster sent me the report of hits that reached my website, it was nothing compared to the number of clicks reported by facebook. i know normal people have no way to benefit from this, but it is sure that something not right happened at facebook. i've contacted fb for this and they are still investigating, but no refund as they said.

People dont like to leave Facebook when they click on an ad. The better thing to do is direct them to a fangated tab on your fanpage. This gets you a 'like' which increases the number of people to your fanpage because of the viral effect. When you build a good following on your fanpage you can then engage them with useful or interesting information and also throw in the occasional marketing offer.

In my experience the only people who think Facebook is generating fake clicks are people who don't understand how different it is to advertise with CPM social media than search is.

    Is it different? Yes.

    Are the clicks real? Yes.

It works well if you drive traffic to your fanpage.. not much as of outside Facebook

Facebook have categories from which a user selects on what ads are they interested. So they may not be a fake clicks but rather not interested now especially of you offer high price or asking for payment especially work from home jobs.
