I use to combine mine facebook page with my twitter account. Some of my facebook fans just don't know about the twitter page and in this case they see 'posted via twitter' for example.
You could use some blachat techniques, just to look popular and people will start following you.

Honestly, I do less (and lazy) task to get some twitter followers. Whether it is working effectively or not, I try to include my twitter ID on my profile in some forums, included in some guest blogging profile, also linked it to Facebook.

I do search in Google and found that I missed lot other ways to get more followers.

I wouldn't prefer people to buy followers because followeres are also known as friends which we can't buy friends.

The best way that everybody does to get followers is to

- network with others.
- follow others and wait for them to follow back.
- use other social media networking sites to promote your Twitter@Name.
- often reply to people (reply to as many people as possible).
- use no more than 2 hashtags to spread your tweet.
- mention people in your tweet
- and last but not least, post 4 tweets a day.

Hope tips above will help you to get more followers on Twitter. (BTW, you also need time to get followers.).

You can do it by yourself as well as by outsourcing. There are lots of sites those provide you genuine real followers. Just register your name with one of those sites. It's absolutely free. You would get as much as followers as you want.

Depending on who your target market is - search the keyword in the search box to see other people showing interest in the keyword, follow them.

Follow anyone who you think is your potential target market - then tweet them and say hello and ask for a follow back.

That's a good start. Focus on getting real followers first. Always make you post catchy as possible. Start building your network through your friends. Syndicate your content to other social networking sites such as Facebook and Google plus.

You can do it the long way, which is to post a bunch of tweets on valuable information and retweeting other people's content, which will help your branding.

BUT, if you prefer the quick way, you can get a software like tweet adder and follow up to 900+ accounts a day on people that are in your niche, depending on how your twitter profile is setup, you usually keep around 25% of how much you follow. I've built my twitter into almost 80k followers using this method.

Stay away from buying twitter followers from fiverr or other places for cheap like $5 - $10 those are not real twitter followers and twitter will delete them within weeks. If you do purchase followers they're are real services out there that will do this for you, it will take longer but you get what you pay for. They usually start around $199 for 5k folloers.

Do a search on people related to your niche or interest, who it is you want to target with your tweets. Add these people in hopes they add you back. Make sure they add you back. Give them like a week or so, you can use Tweetpi.com or something that shows they're reciprocating your follow.

Twitter is real cool, with ever tweet I usually see 15-20 hits on my site. Social media is not a fad. Blogs and websites are not 100% interactive with users and customers, social media will fill that void. It won't replace Google search, but search will be through social media and users like us who have good content in our blogs.

Create a "list" of people to follow in your niche and begin engaging them. If you have original content of your own feel free to share. They may retweet or post your article, info, etc. Also, others that follow those influential people will see your tweet replies and may follow you. Above all, follow people in your niche and send a simple DM to say hello. They will most likely follow you back.
When you post, always add value. Make your content engaging. Do research on "copy". Yes, copy is important, even on a 160 character Tweet!

if you said to get real followers , the best is your content which make them volunteer to follow you without giving any rewards and force them to do it .
But this result usually slow unless your content is really quality enough that everyone hunt for.
