Help building new facebook page

Hi there,

First of all, I wouldn't worry about what people will think if they see that your FB page has so few likes. Every business has to start somewhere and everyone starts out with those first few likes. There are services available for purchase that will give you "instant likes" on Facebook, however you aren't doing yourself any favors in the long run because those likes will not be from people who genuinely "like" your product or service. It's basically junk traffic, at least that's how I see it. Traffic like this will not convert to sales in any measurable way. You are much better off building your Facebook fan page with people who are truly interested in what you do and this can only be done through hard work like every other aspect of your business.

As you engage with people on your page the number of likes will grow much faster than you every could have anticipated. There are so many ways to do this, just do some research on ideas to promote your FB fan page. There are tons and tons of great blog posts out there on this topic. Some of the ideas include: frequent posting focusing on posts that encourage interactivity from the reader, commenting on other people's posts regularly as this entices people to check out your page, and running contests which people on Facebook love!

I hope I was at least able to give you some perspective on this and I do speak from experience in having built up thousands of FB fans on a number of different pages.

Growth takes some time. It will happen if you're available to your fans and engage with them. Keep your Facebook wall open and respond as much as you can to comments, questions or complaints. Interacting with followers is the key. It will happen, just do it right!

I read it helps to tag people on photos to get more likes, but I feel like it would be spammy. Has anyone had a bad experience doing so?

Here's the thing, to do well online, you need to be open and clear. When people see that you're new with something and honest about that, they appreciate you for being real instead of beating around the bush. There's no need to worry about that. In fact, let them know that you're still working on it. Share your dreams and goals to them too. Don't let that stop you from moving forward. Just keep on moving forward and your fan page will build on it's own. :-) Everyone with thousands even millions of fans started from zero. I started marketing when I had 0 fans. I was proud to announce that because it's the beginning of something new.
