Start promoting your facebook fanpage in niche related facebook groups to build up some likes, and make sure you post great content from your page so members will interact with you. Also, if you have a advertising budget, you can run a facebook ppc campaign, which allows you to promote a fanpage and even a specific post on your fanpage, which can drive alot of targted traffic to your page..Hope this helps!!

Run a contest! Follow us on FB & Twitter & win: blahblahblah. :] Post something that people will be sure to respond to if they're interested in your niche.

Run some contests, for example Like&Share contests. You also could check Facebook ads if you got some budget to spend.

    Hi Chris,

Hang around at Fan Pages etc similar to your own niche.

Post comments, add your own content and brand yourself as much as possible to get more likes, fans etc.

Then look to post engaging content at your Fan Page to get people to share, like comment etc at your F/Page.

This will build your "Edge Rank" and F/B will place your next posts at the top of the list of that person's wall who shared, liked, commented on your posts.

Keep rolling with these strategies until you see a consistent flow likes coming into your Fan Page.

Spend around 30 mins day trying to attract others back to your page.

Then encourage them to share your posts as much as possible.

Hope this helps and have a great weekend my friend!!!

      HERE'S HOW IT WORKS.

      1. Facebook shows your post to about a hundred and fifty people when you first post it. These people are not random - they're people who have recently liked, shared, or commented on your other recent posts.

      2. If those people like, share, or comment on your new post, Facebook shows it to more people.

This is a very simple system which creates a basic externality.

The more consistent your post types and topics are, the more targeted those first 150 impressions are going to be.

Let's say you share mostly cute pictures of cats on Facebook. You get all these likes and shares and comments from people who like cute pictures of cats. Your fan page gets lots of followers. Now you say "surely a few of those followers would like to buy something about teaching your cat to use the toilet!" and you send out an affiliate link to a Clickbank product about that.

That affiliate link now goes to 150 people who like cute pictures of cats, who may or may not click and buy, but they are certainly not going to like or share your link and will probably not comment.

So your affiliate link falls over and dies because it is not effective link, share, or comment bait.

That is why you promote your posts. Because you know it's not going to get free distribution from your fan network. However, you can still grow that network for free by posting cute pictures of cats. And you can conduct market research among those fans. And you can learn what to promote that way.

      It's not f*cking magnets, people.

The word "post" is both a noun and a verb. YOUR FIRST POST is the only post you have ever made. YOU FIRST POST when you click the button to post something, whether you have posted other things or not.

This can be confusing for those to whom English is not a first language.

Yes (except for the fact Facebook no longer calls them "Fan Pages") you should really listen to gcbmark20 and CDarklock; they know their stuff.

Many people make the mistakes of creating quite a generic FB Page then want every person and their dogs to like it.

It's not about the quantity of people liking your Page; it's all about quality.

EdgeRank is a very real thing, and you want interaction from people passionate about the tight niche you're targeting!

For instance, don't make a Page about a broad subject. Instead of calling your Page "I Love Dogs", target a specific breed of dog.

Even better, go deeper in a niche and target a specific thing your subject does/has/wants. But also make sure there are enough people in the world who're passionate about the subject to warrant making a FB Page for it... Proper research on targeting profitable niches will help immensely.

Next, you'll want to post ad's to the specific audience - the more targeted your ad around your niche the better - you don't want everyone liking your Page; especially if they're not passionate about your subject because that will just kill your EdgeRank... Using Fb Ad's, depending on the niche, you'll want to aim for a reach of between 70,000 and 250,000 Facebooker's.

Remember, go for quality! Not quantity!

Fb ad's are superb at getting just the right audience to like your Page, however, you want to start small and slow if you're not very good at creating FB Ad's yet... Test, track, and split test your results and go with the best converting ad's always! (many courses online about this; Google for tutorials)

You can also create a circle of Pages after a while. Because, after you've gotten good at making Fb Ad's which get a decent CTR (Click Through Rate) the next Page in your circle/spiral can suck people from your first Page along to the next (and so on and so forth) giving you an even higher CTR which in-turn lowers your CPC (Cost Per Click)... Keep the Pages in the same/similar niche though.

Anyway, can go on and on for days about FB Pages but most important thing to remember is TARGETING! Both your Page creation to begin with, then with your advertising afterwards...

        Peace,
        Paul

I don't think so. I have just under 300 fans and my posts only reach about 15-20% of my fans. Facebook tells you how many people saw your post.

Ok, that doesn't suggest that you can pay for post exposure. I have one page that I manage that has less than 300 fans and the option to pay for reach is not there. However, I have another page, which sits at 324 fans and the option to pay for post reach is there.

If you can't see that option then what I suggested clearly has merit.

I have a great idea. I think it would help you to increase more fan for your page. I know one person in my country. Who is basically a singer. She has a fan page. And the number of her fan page is increasing day by day. She has her own site also. She interact very few with her fans. But each of every day she post about her daily activities, her program in different TV and others interesting story. All i noticed that she is always keep updated about her activities to her fans. I think that it's a great idea. You may follow her.

    Chris,

My advice would be to build up your audience as quickly as possible - this creates momentum.

I started 'Gardening News' on Facebook and we now have over 30,000 fans - targeted fans.

It's a highly engaged group of fans from all over the world and it now grows naturally at approx 1,000 new fans every single month, which is great!

So, commit a budget and set-up some Facebook ads.

Done correctly, it's possible to spend approx $500 to get 10,000 fans - remember these are targeted fans. Those were my approx figures anyway.

    All the best!
    Simon

Set up a Facebook PPC campaign. Drive the traffic to a capture page within a tab on your facebook fan page. Make the prospect "like" your page before they can view the "goody" (video, training, etc..) that you are offering. This will increase your likes, potential sales, and increase awareness.

Hmmmmm, let's see. First, I think you should consider placing a FaceBook ad. They are cheap and targeted.

You should also become active in groups and some Fan Pages that are in or similar to your niche. Read the posts and leave comments and likes.

Leaving about 50 - 100 likes a day will start to gain some attention. Just make sure you stick to your niche. Don't get, too like happy. FaceBook will get you for it.

Leave comments as well and interact with others on these fan pages and threads. When your likes start to rise, start sending out messages on the fanpage thanking people for joining. This makes you more real to them.

It would also be good to have some content already on the fan page so fans have something to engage in once they arrive.

Schedule content (useful content) to drop on your page as well to keep the page fresh and active. Have at least 4 posts drop a day. Try scheduling them around the time when people will have access or time to look at your page.

If you already have people on your personal profile, tell those who matter about the page.

Hope this helps! Good luck! :-0)

Here is something nobody likes to hear. We have come to a place where we HAVE to use good content. Social sites are figuring us out, Google already has, and time is not on our side. I spend 2-3 hours every stinking day finding good articles, seeing how they spin out, and sometimes repeating if they don't spin right. DO NOT listen to people who say article marketing is dead. You can spin some good content, curate it, and get some good traffic out of it. Google still like curated content, and it's even better if you spin it right. So far Google's bots haven't figured this out yet. My rankings stayed the same after Penguin... GOOD CONTENT, GOOD CONTENT!

I started my page about two months ago but one method that I use when I am promoting my FB page is to visit other fan pages directly and indirectly related to your niche. Go through and like the comments and the content of those fan pages and the people visiting those pages.

We all get notifications when someone likes our status. It's the exact same thing here. People will see you liked their post or comment on said fan page and in some case when they read that a Fan Page liked their post/comment they will click through to see what your page is about and interact possibly.

Be careful not to go overboard with this as it could been seen as spam by Facebook. Spread your likes out by doing it different times and places (fanpages). This method definitely works but pace yourself.
