How Can I promote my business for xmas on facebook

I wonder if I could pick your collective brilliant minds.

Self help, coaching, personal development is my niche. I think I just uncovered a limiting belief I have about my business.

Its this..... noone wants to gift self help or coaching to others at xmas.

Is that true. I know I would never buy a friend a coaching session for xmas.

So I am wondering if you could take a look at my page and my website and see if you can help me to get a bit more creative about how to increase my revenue as xmas draws closer.

many many thanks. My business would still be in the starting blocks without the advice and help I have received in here.

    Hey Carol,

From my experience in this market it slows down significantly on the way to Christmas as people, for some odd reason, prefer to buy computer games rather than coaching. Never understood it myself.

What I would do is spend the next few months positioning yourself in people's minds because as soon as Xmas is out of the way they start to think of how little they have achieved over the year and how they want to do something different next year.

I've found with my hypnosis programs that it quietens down in December significantly but then as soon as the new year hits I tend to get 4 or 5 times the normal sales because people are ready to change their lives.

I'd concentrate on getting the site ranking, getting likes and subscribers and building up my reputation with them as an authority figure. That will mean that those that are going to buy before Xmas will, but those that are on the fence will consider you their first port of call after they've over indulged!

    Good luck with it!

    Jason

Jason thank you so much, see the warrior forum is full of brilliance. I knew I was not thinking very creativly about this. So instead of trying to capture the xmas market I could focus on having a product launch in January targeting the slump that people get into after xmas after dealing with family issues, feeling broke etc... ok thats so helpful thanks Jason........

Instead of targeting the gift market, why not consider writing a seasonal book that's right up your alley and could potentially fill some of your holiday slump for years to come?

People are stressed during the holidays. They have to deal with families and exes and all kinds of issues they thought they'd conquered. There are people who have seasonal depression.

Some kind of "Surviving the Holidays" type of book where you sort of apply the fundamental principles of your first book to holiday situations could sell to people who bought your Self-Esteem book and people you've coached. Even some of your biggest success story people might have a hard time during the holidays or might buy to prevent reverting to the person they used to be or whatever. More sales and new reviews from old clients.

You can also use the seasonal book to get a bunch of new people on your list who you can approach after the holidays for those "This Year Will Be Different" sales that Jason talked about...

what a brilliant idea ! there is so much power in numbers isnt there. I solved a problem for someone today that was so simple, she shook her head and said why the hell didnt i think of that........... I told her about me coming here to ask for help. Said to her, you know even people who solve problems for living need help sometimes. learning to ask for help is a great strength. I cant thank you enough, this is a great idea.

I think people like to think everything is fine and happy at Christmas time and hide problems. Therefore people wouldn't want to gift self help to someone at the risk of it being an unwanted gift or even an insult.

Agree with the other comments that January is the time people realise all there problems are actually still there and will come looking for you - hopefully!

One thing - had a look at your website. Looks nice but this jumped out instantly - Sick and tired off being sick and tired? off should be of...just thought I'd say. Didn't proof read your whole site - that just jumped out. Good Luck

Rather than focus on xmas for sales why not offer an excellent quality high cost coaching package as a competition prize to start of the new year in the right way. That way you can spread the word about your business and capture opt ins as entry into the competition, this would capture people seeking to change in some way so they would be more responsive and you can ask for a testemonial from them as part of the deal. There are a few plug ins that enable you to run a contest, if you are doing this on facebook be sure to stay within their guidelines.

    Good luck

I ran a competition last year to win me as your coach for a year and it sold a lot of my book. I am def going to do that again ...... I think if I run it from my blog and just share the link on facebook, I will be ok. I will def check their guidlines. I like your idea and I think this year I will make it free entry with just a sign up page and be selling the book at the same time !

I would focus on people's new year's resolutions. If you focus on creating a free report the next two months and use facebook ads, you probably get more likes, downloads, subscribers etc.
Don't forget to check out the demograhics from other wesbites in your niche, or even youtube videos. This way when you do decide to go with fb advertising, your ads are ultra targeted.

You could also create videos and/or do video responses to other niche related and popular videos.

There is a third option as well: Advertise on other people's blogs. There are many blogs that allow advertising and if you use your free offer to get people on your list, you should have a good start of the new year. Just google it and you'll be good to go! Just make sure you check out how many visitors their blog gets and/or how big their list is.

So, we have fb ads, video marketing and blog ads....that should get you going! Good luck!

I like Clive's contest idea, and if it worked for you in the past, too, you should repeat it - people who didn't win last year would probably sign up again. I just keep thinking about the point he made about those people being so much more receptive to your offers - they are basically admitting they need your services by signing up in the first place.

I think you'd lose signups if you did a "why I need you as a coach" essay contest kinda thing (intimidation and procrastination), but it would be valuable to have that sort of information - the biggest reasons they want you, the biggest new year's resolutions (for natas' ideas), etc. You could use that information to make conversions easier once they get on your list and to target new people to get on your list.

So maybe consider putting a "lazy" alternative to that on the contest signup page - some sort of input field where they can type in "biggest problems I have right now" or "areas I want to focus on if I win" or "things I want to be different next year."

Those issues could become a focus for various blog posts, book sales text, ads, etc for even MORE responsive buyers.
