Can You Make Money with Your FaceBook Cover Photo
If you actually read the FaceBook Page Guidelines and read the rules on covers under Page Features, you'll see what you can and cannot do.
Cover Photos cannot include the following:
- price or purchase information, such as "40% off" or "Download it on socialmusic.com"
- contact information such as a website address, email, mailing address, or information that should go in your Page's "About" section;
- references to Facebook features or actions, such as "Like" or "Share" or an arrow pointing from the cover photo to any of these features; or
- calls to action, such as "Get it now" or "Tell your friends."
I assume many have read this since the majority of the cover letters I see don't seem to violate any of the rules. But what puzzles me is that they have NO description with a link when you click on the actual cover photo. You can also see this if you're already a fan and the pages cover photo has been changed. The text pops up with it.
It seems to me that many are missing out on a golden opportunity by not adding a description and url. The FaceBook rules say you can't have any call to actions on your over photo. That doesn't mean you can't get people to click on it. Mia Davies cover photo is the perfect example.
With the holidays around the corner and the biggest shopping season of the year at our doorsteps, I think taking advantage of that big picture will drive more traffic and more sales to your business and web site. Does anyone else see this?
