Giving FB fans free gifts

To get a good amount of fb fans on your fb fan page. I know we should give them something bc in society, unfortunately, everyone is all for them selves.

So people are going to jump in if they can get something free.

So my question is, what idea do you have or have you used, to give visitor free gifts for being a fan, and how do you do it for cheap so it doesn't cost you little to no money.

    The only thing I can think of is a contest for one product but.... I think more people would jump on it if EVERYONE got a free gift, instead of a chance to get one.

      I'm currently running a simple comp where people share an image I have posted to enter, there will be 3 winners picked at random each winning a personalised christmas stocking, so far I've gained over 1000 extra likes and had around 600 shares.

    A free download is a great idea. I agree that it would make a great giveaway. Be careful of expensive giveaways - - you might get more fans than you think, and then be in trouble. A download is the perfect solution.

    A contest is also a great idea that you could do later on. Both will get you more Facebook fans.

    what can you give as a download free to fans that wont cost little to nothing to me/everyone that has a page?

    Even if it is a download from apple, that is $1.00 each, 600 visitors = $600

    That is a lot of money. I am willing to spend money if it is worth it.... I just don't see $1.00 each person is worth it

    If your looking for 'what' do give, that cant be stated with any real meaning since you dont say what your fanpage is about.

    If your looking for 'how' to give, you can use my IFRAME app. Just make a fangate, then instead of the IFRAME for the page, use the graphic page option and make the post fan gate page a graphic that is linked to the zip download. There is a free version.

    It is mostly irreverent why my page is. I can give away one free itune to each fan, they still would come. Even if I had a toilet paper fan page.

    Just seeing what other people are using/doing.

      What your page is about is completely relevant for a FB giveaway. Just giving away a random gift unrelated to your niche will just get you a bunch of non-targeted freebie seekers who will offer little value to your FB page (and you'll get a lot of people unliking your page after the giveaway is over). You may as well just buy Likes from Fiverr if you're going to go that route. I'm actually working on a short report about this, because a lot of people have no idea how to run an effective FB giveaway. The goal of Facebook should be to get targeted traffic, not just building up your number of Likes.

    Post a contest on your page like tag your friends on a given photo, share photo or something like that.
    Giveaway premier accounts of websites like RealityKings, Brazzers, Minecraft etc. to the winners.

    I think the best way is to write a report about your niche and give it to your facebook fans for free. It's does not take as long to write like an ebook and does not require much effort.

      I gave out LEGO bricks and mini-figs.
      I gave out the odd ones, extras, whatnots, and send them out 1st class...

      But the coolest thing is - they have to give me not just email addresses, but physical addresses as well.

      If anyone knows anything about mail order, well - you get the idea.

    Free downloads are a great way to get likes and also new customers. I am even giving away a free eBook before my product launch. The giveaway is something that is actually very good and helps the reader. I thinks this is important in anything you give away. The value of the giveaway in the readers/clients eyes, is what they will remember you by. Thus, it's important to step up to the plate and over deliver - even if it a free gift!

    I just launched a similar idea on my site, every 10th person who purchases an item gets one free. I'm hoping it gets people who might not usually make the sale have a go. I'm thinking its low risk because I know that I can support the giveaway every tenth sale, however margins are very tight as it is

    I give away a free download, but it's pointless as nobody is reading my fan page. The only alternative is to advertise the free giveaway on FB, which might or might not be worth it... in my case, not.

    I think I need to switch niches. :-(

    What is your page about? If it is about fishing, you can write a report ...10 best fishing strategies -- whatever. If you need some frame of reference, you can buy some plr on whatever the subject is and rewrite it in your words.

    Otherwise, it can be video training - you can make some videos and put them on YouTube - with an unlisted URL - and then just forward them the urls to the videos.

    Both of these options do not cost much money at all - just some time on your end.
