Facebook success in 24 hours - dammit, its so easy!

I find it somewhat sad when I read people complaining they are getting no new fans, no interactions, no shares. It's so damn easy that I just don't get it. Actually, I do! They're doing it wrong, that's all.

I set up thriving Facebook pages with interactive, real people without spending a dime. And it generally takes me an hour per day over a single week to build each page.

I'll show you with my own page. I've done this time and again for my clients.

Here's a few things people do WRONG :

They buy fake fans.
Please stop this. Its a waste of your money. Full stop!

They concentrate ONLY on large pages.
When you're starting out on Facebook, this is the biggest waste of time ever. Big pages don't care about you. They're big. You're small.

They share stuff but say nothing.
If you want your fans to share and like what you are posting on your page you have to engage them. So add a few intelligent words along with whatever you are sharing - a video, a link… Get them to engage, discuss, give their opinion. Dammit, a social network is about socializing. So socialize with them!!!!

They think competition is unhealthy.
So sad that so many people don't get just how valuable it is to work TOGETHER with people in the same niche. If you have a Facebook Page about Health, guess where you are going to get fans? That's right - Facebook pages about Health. It's not competition. It's working together to grow together.

So, now that we've gone through the don't do's, let's move on to the do's!

Here's my method :

I've got 10 new videos up on YouTube for my clients, reviewing their clickbank/amazon products.

Now I'm going to move on to Facebook to get the traffic for my clients to start selling.

So I create a new page.

Phase I - Sourcing connections
Instead of wasting my time trying to beg for attention from big pages, I actually go look for small, new ones. We're on the same level. We want the same thing. Connecting with them is easy!

So I 'Like' their page, share something they've posted on their page and I leave a smart comment. We're socializing right?

Phase II - Attention
I have the attention of a couple of small pages. We are connecting and socializing. I've shared something of their's, so they will happily share something of mine!

Boom ---> a small, but welcome boost in traffic and fans.

Phase III - Give more than you get!
I've shared something of their's. They've shared something of mine. Now I'll do something unexpected and give them something more - I'll post their Facebook Page link in one of my YouTube videos.

Ooooh they love that! They are so appreciative that my video will certainly end up on their page too!

Boom ---> traffic to my videos. Traffic to those who shared my video. We are all now boasting new fans!!!

Phase IV - New connections
I have my small circle of pages set up, now I begin expanding the circle.
So I've selected 100 new pages and did Phase I to Phase III with them too.
And now I act as the middle-man and introduce these new 100 pages to the previous 100 pages. They connect. They share stuff.

Phase V - New stuff
A few hours ago, my page had but 2 fans, and I was working with 100 other pages with maybe 10 fans each. Between us, we had about 1000 fans.

But from Phase I to Phase III, we've managed to up our fan-base by say 10%. 100 new people between us.

Plus, there's 100 new pages in my little "circle" now that i gathered in Phase IV.

So, I add new material to my page. They've added new material to their pages. We share the new stuff again.

By now, my fan-base is healthily expanding. I spend time leaving comments across these pages. Their fans see me! That's free exposure.

So, its time for me to add new stuff on my own page. A few of my new YouTube videos.

Boom ---> 200 pages are sharing my stuff. Traffic is growing.

What's happening by now?
My YouTube videos is ranking higher and higher on YouTube and attracting more viewers directly from search engines. These viewers are seeing the Facebook Page links I've posted under the video. Curiosity gets the best of them and they click. Chance is, a percentage will convert to a fan. And it doesn't matter if these new fans are mine or go to another page - we have a healthy circle working together and we all gain from it.

Next time I share something with one of the pages in my circle, their fan-base is way bigger. So my traffic is bigger too.

Boom ---> Success!

In 24 hours, i have managed to create a thriving circle of pages working with me. I have a healthy fan-base. My YouTube videos are attracting more and more views from search engines, and so our fan-base grows!

It's a vicious circle created by synergies.
That's all it takes.

Each day, I spend an hour working "the circle" by going through Phases I to V. It's an hour of my day that each day brings us all new growth.
Yes, US. It's important you understand that working WITH other people will bring you success 10x faster! So it's important to nurture ALL your connections.

So who wants to try it with me?
I've got a brand new page. It has 2 fans!
In 24 hours, we'll all be boasting a new, fresh, and growing fan-base!

Oh, by the way, if you're reading this thinking, "I'll come back when they reach 10,000 fans and join then" - Sorry buster. By the time we reach 10,000 fans, we'll be charging you to join us!!! No free rides here. Serious people only.

If you want to join, paste your Facebook Page(s) even if you've got only 1 fan.
My page is a non-niche page that works with all niches. Even if you don't find something for your niche there, 'Like' it now. I've got new stuff coming in all the time.

Let's make this for serious people only - join today and I'll place you on my videos. Join tomorrow, and you may not be so lucky!

And again, if you're thinking "pppfff, this is for start-ups"...Mr, it is that very idea that is not getting you anywhere!

UPDATE
On purpose, I set up this page and left it promoting ONLY on this forum. Results? 16 people from this forum 'liked' the page. Then? Nothing. They took off.

Why? Everybody is looking for the free ride. The expectation, i guess, was to get me to do the work and they'd reap the winnings. That is NOT how you succeed on a social network. The two words here "social" and "network" mean just that - socializing and communicating.

Here's something else I notice - Nobody seems to see how 'spicing' up your page could really get your fans more inclined to interact with you!

There's nothing wrong with adding something fresh to your FB page every now and again that may not be relevant to your Page's niche. In fact, your fans will appreciate it. If you have a page exclusively about Cat Litter...really, how exciting is that?? Spice it up. Add something irrelevant to your page every now and again. Your target audience has other interests than just Cat Litter (i guess/hope). So, bring them in to your page with something else...!

I'll keep the page up and will proceed with the above strategy, but if you're not interested in interacting on this page, then I'm afraid there is no point being a 'fan' on it.

Because, guess what? Even with 16 likers who did nothing more than like, i got action on my videos :

Not much traffic, but we got good traffic - ratings and comments!!

Thanks for sharing those good information.
I'm going to try to implement some of your strategies because my Facebook traffic doesn't share enough. It is always good to see what other marketer are doing right.

No. Everybody is welcome. The more the merrier. My page works well with all niches and it is a stepping stone. If you're serious about doing something right that works, then you are most welcome.

If you've clicked the 'Like' button thinking you can now sit back while I do it all for you, I'm afraid you will be getting zero results from my page.

OMG! Where do I start? You are such a breath of fresh air on a sunnny new day! I love your no-nonsense, straight to the point attitude. That comes from knowing WHY you're right and doing what you love. Most people don't know why they do anything other than for money and that's not a reason...it's a result.

I have a few pages and my son just opened a store in Sacramento to builid his own brand of Jewelry and Watches. [jahda.com] but his website is not finished yet and neither is his page - yet. NOW I have some incentive to get his Page and the ones I started finished and moving in the right directlion.

I've been spending most of my time building simple Facebook Apps that don't post random promotions all over everyone's pages whenever they feel the urge. I'm wondering if you could use one to feature all the pages in your circle/clients on an App that runs on a Facebook Canvas Page with a namespace. Anyone can add that App to a Tab on any of their Pages with 1-click. Here's an example of what I mean:

Niche Chatter on Facebook | Facebook That one is for the best script I've ever seen so I made the owner this "app" that anyone share or add to a Tab on their pages.

Coupons and More on Facebook | Facebook Lists where tp find the best coupons.
Mothers Day App Creator on Facebook | Facebook Quiz for Mother's Day
Funny Storyteller on Facebook | Facebook Write a letter to Grandma

I'd rather build custom canvas apps that make other people's pagaes more fun than build pages for myself which is why people [like me] have poorly run pages that look like ghost towns. People do what they WANT because that's what we LIKE doing...it's more fun and that's what makes us happpy ... then money follows.

That's exactly why working together works ....everyone helping each other doing what they do best. What a concept....how hard is that to understand? The problem started centuries ago when people started believing money brings happiness...but that's backwards - it's the other way around!!

I think my apps and your pages will work well together. What do you think?

I wrote up a whole page on why everyone needs Canvas Page App. The link is in my Signature. Just looking at one doesn't tell you much. After you check out the page, you'll understand much better. Then can you tell me what you think, good or bad? Nobody says much of anything so I don't know if there's something missing or what. It's in the Classified section so I put $2 bucks a month. I'm not looking for buyers - I'm looking for USERS!!

I ran into this app today in the Joint Ventures.. but they create pages and https://www.fans2page.com/pages/explainer add the app to TABS on their pages with a reward system that makes people come back and check your pages so they stay active. Tabs do nothing but sit there. They don't even drive traffic - that goes back to the App's URL, not the Tab's unless they are the same but not usually. .

Canvas Apps have their Own page on Facebook with a namespace so they can be added to everyone's page with 1- click including your own so you can make custom pages and tabs for everyone. No rush - just let me know when you have time - Thanks!

Actually, I just woke up, so I haven't even started.
I left this post on late last night for a specific reason and I KNEW it would happen - hardly anybody would join. Why? Because, sadly, most people just don't get that starting from the bottom you actually achieve much better and much faster results.

IM'rs by nature are lazy bums. They are looking to buy into ready-made everything and then sit around wondering why they haven't succeeded yet.

In the 12 hours since I opened the thread 7, yes 7 people, have joined the page. I'm going to treat them like gold because they are the type of people who get it, while everyone else is still scouring the Warrior Forum looking for the ready-made stuff that promises to make them rich!!

PS - Just re-read your post Steve, and notice you're waiting....

Some good stuff here. I'm gradually getting the hang of FB - I've got 120 fans now, and at least they're real fans. I've launched 2 more fan pages. I think FB will be huge in 2013, along with Amazon and Apple stuff. Think of all those Kindles and iPads sitting under Christmas trees.

2013 won't be so nice to Google.

Back to FB, and once you get to 200+ fans then try interacting with people with 10,000+ fans. My friend did this and he went from 100 likes to 3000 likes!

Good info, but not so easy to put in practice. I also notice that you state that you have built several pages, but dont link to a single popular one as an example of your method working. The only link you have is of your unpopular new page.

Im a little confused. Its been 96 hours and you have gained a total of 14 fans.

Im guessing I have missed the point. Sorry.

But really 14 fans in 4 days, for an hours work each day means your working 1 hour for 3 fans. If you value your time at a very modest $30 per hour then that means that your paying about $10 (in time) per fan.

If you really want to know how to get real, targeted fans just let me know, Ill hook you up with some info that actually works.

    that's ok thank you!
as i mentioned in the update in the first post, i left it after doing the initial work with those who did join the page and waited to see how they reacted. they didn't. they were in for a free ride waiting for someone else to do the work for them.

so i left it as is. it is a valuable test.

now i will move on from warrior members and get it flying on my own.
    thanks for the offer though.

My newest FB fan page has 4 (real) fans now. I've also had 2 messages posted. Encouragingly, one message was from somebody who was clearly interested in buying things in my niche (he was obviously in "buy mode").

I think FB could be a valuable traffic source for me after Google spanked my niche sites.

Maybe getting a social following then building a niche site is better than doing it the other way round! My friend with 4000 likes is doing this approach, and I think he's gonna make $$$ when his site is ready.

That's another option and I've done that too. But its th "getting a social following" part we need to dedicate time to.

Nice effort. The take away from your post are couple of things.

    1) Positive and "REAL" engagement with your fans.
    2) Help and be helped.

Here's a few things people do WRONG :

    They buy fake fans.
Please stop this. Its a waste of your money. Full stop!
People often 'like' accounts that already have an established following base. Popularity can lead to even more popularity, manufactured or otherwise. Have seen the proof of this, not being theoretical.

Seams a whole lot simpler to just spend $10 on Facebook ads using CPM and add 500 - 2k fan to your own page.

Touche, and those are fans with your niche, but I spent a little bit of money using FB ads and never got much luck.

Great insight, it all goes back to helping others before you help yourself.

I have a question. When socializing with other pages, would it be okay to socialize as my fan page? Or would it be better to socialize with my real profile? Or it doesn't matter?

Firstly apologies to all who joined the page and then were "left alone". Lots has been happening life-wise and I have not found the time to update anything. Unfortunately that led to a lot of people un-liking the page who had previously liked it. But no matter. Start again.

In response to your question specifically, I rarely use my own account. I use my pages. i have a few for different niches so I use them to interact with relevant pages.

        Glad you liked the idea.

I am so glad you posted this. I have had the problem of not sticking with the task...going off to something new. It is true that you will not get anywhere in this business if you are looking for a free ride. Sometimes you have to dig in and do the dirty work. Trust me, it will pay off.

I am definitely going to implement the steps you laid out. I am starting to get the hang of this Facebook thing.

It's not a bad strategy, and I'm sure that it works if you put in the effort, but I think you might very quickly grow sick of sharing posts from hundreds of pages in return for shares of your own posts. And what you said isn't entirely true. I simply got a few thousand random likes for my pages, posted my latest blog posts and You Tube videos on them, and they're ranking on the first page of Google for low competition searches, the one called affordable social media marketing services is outranking my site for the same keyword phrase. I get some traffic from my random likes, but it's mostly the fact that I'm ranking on Google and Facebook searches that gets people to my site from Facebook. I might try out your strategy, but I think I could probably get more traffic from the same amount of time by tweeting to my tens of thousands of Twitter followers.

  • Crissie,

This is a solid plan. 99.9% of people don't know this. It's very simple, but requires effort. Many people don't even try because of the effort. What they don't realize is that it's also *fun* to do!

Anyone out there looking for a shortcut like buying likes, please save yourself some time. The "likes" that you buy won't be worth anything to you. You need targeted people who KNOW who you are. That only happens by being involved on the page. It's not hard, your page needs to be a little community. You need to be there to keep it going. Follow Crissie's plan, or ask me about mine. Bottom line: you need a strategy, and you need to be personally involved (you don't have to do it all, you can get help...I'll help you

    You're wrong.

I've been doing SMM for clients for quite some time and am known for creating viral content for them. I know what works and what doesn't on Facebook.

Approaching large pages is totally fine and they will share your posts IF the posts are worth sharing. Anecdotal evidence: I started my own freelance FB page with just me as a follower on Day 1, created a post I knew would spread like wildfire because of the content and graphic design of it, shared it with pages that had 100,000+ fans, and got lots of shares. That one post ended up getting over 15,000 shares and 20,000 likes. They will share good posts regardless of how big your following is.

As for your other point, I have seen no correlation between adding a few words at the beginning of a post versus just posting the image. No one cares or bothers to read the text. They look at the picture instead. But here is the key thing many pages screw up: they "share" rather than save an image and upload it to their page. Uploading works much better for getting people to like/share and it keeps the People Talking About This juice on your page.

To me one of the easiest ways to increase the potential for virality of ANY post is to literally tell people to "share" or "like", preferably using that text in the post's image so it's obvious. But don't overdo it on too many posts.
