How do you find clients to manage their social media accounts? What types of businesses are good potential prospects? What are the best ways to reach out to them?

I found businesses who are small>medium size work best along with restaurants and other high traffic (retail) locations. You have many service related businesses that work too but you have to find your niche that you are comfortable with.

Think of what makes them unique then make it work for others.

You can look for clients by checking their social media account and offering them a service that they wont refuse. Also you can go to the SEO forums and introduce yourselves with what you do.

How do you pitch to them? Is it best to send them a letter of introduction with your services or try to get to know them via social media first and then reach out?

There is a specific section for social media jobs in sites like freelancer, odesk. You can place bids there to get social media related jobs. Facebook and twitter jobs are greater in number.

Small-medium businesses are common clients that you can offer such services, you can compile a list and contact them either via mail or by calling. Give a good introduction of you and your company, then present the importance of your services and of course your rates.

This is a damn good question, I started the hunt for my first client last week and this is what i plan to do.

    1. Start gathering raving clients, I have offered select groups on facebook free google authorship and connect setups. Im hoping because they are already on facebook and im setting up google+ profiles then i already know that they can leave a great comment on a speficic intro post on both fb, g+ and my website for potential clients to see.

Get potential clients to see those raving clients comments. After researching the competition i have realised most social media companies have reputable seo backgrounds so rather than try and compete im taking the old fasioned route with an introduction marketing letter.

The marketing letter will be delivered initial by hand, starting with shopping malls and main cbd. Later i'll expand internationally using telemarketing with the sole purpose of getting a contact name and postal address and post them out the same letter.

Sorry bout the novel, thats exactly how I plan to find social media clients, feel free to use this yourself, more than enough clients for everyone.
