I have just been accepted to Twitter's Shop Small Initiative and have $100 to spend. I have never advertised on Twitter before and would love some tips on how I should go about it. I will be advertising my site at crowdini.com

  • Start tweeting interesting posts. Be sure to make the people curious about what you are marketing. Take advantage of the hashtags and all the things that twitter has to offer.

Success doesn't come in an instant, just like Rome wasn't built in a day.

Follow those with a good number of followers, retweet some of their posts... You should have a great number of active followers, otherwise what's the point of tweeting. When you tweet take advantage of hashtags. Participate in the viral tweets, you don't want promotional tweets all the time...people might just start to unfollow you if you spam them.

Just make sure when you are posting on twitter, you are giving information that will help the people you are advertising to. For example if you are advertising weight loss products you will be constantly tweeting weight loss tips. Your goal is to prove to your potential clients that you are an expert in the field. Once you do that you will be able to convert and get more sales.

LOL, all great tips but I am looking for advice from someone who has formally advertised on Twitter through their promoted tweets or promoted accounts campaigns. I have secured $100 to advertise and need advice on how to spend it wisely.

While it is not exactly targeted traffic, it seems to me that conversion is possible going down this route. There are people who's twitter followers are in the thousands. So if you were to look at what they seem to be interested in and the person who has the thousands of followers lets you use his/hers followers to advertise, this could certainly bring in some dollars to you.
