    Hi,

depending on what Auto responder System you re using there are some cool tricks to make this happen.

I will refer to Aweber as thats the AR i use.

When you have sent an email out to people lets say 500 ppl.

maby you will have 50 ppl open your email.

Then you can go in and check the stats of that broadcast and you can click a button that says [not open].

Then you will have a list of all people that did not open your email. You can then create a segment from this list and save it with a name [unopen1] ieg.

Then you can use the same body of the email BUT you change the Subject to a complete new one. And then you send this email to the segment that you just created.

This will help you get the unopened peoples to get a new chance to open your email !

AND you will not disturb the people that open the email already as they will not get the new once.

This process you can actually just repeat how many times you want until all people has open your email. Do it with 6-8 hours apart until you get a decent overall open rate.

    Good luck!!

  • Jim,

Have you tried improving the content of your email? How long is it? Generally people don’t read really long emails from people they don’t know so the shorter the better. Get to your value proposition quickly. Make sure you value proposition and call to action is very prominent in the message.

What are you using for your subject line in the email? Do you think its enticing enough? This should also be something short and compelling. Also, try a personal name in the place where the sender is displayed. Sometimes when people see company names, they are less likely to open an email.

Here is a good post on the subject,

    Hope that helps,

Keep your content down to a minimum and also make sure that your list is 'opt in'. If the quality of the email is terrible then your conversion rates will never go anywhere. Do you have an example of what your sending in terms of layout?

  • Jim posted the exact method I was going to explain here (Thanks Jack). I typically send the exact email with a different subject line 2 days after an email broadcast to the people who didn't open the first one. I send a 3rd email to the people who didn't open the 2nd one 2 days after that.

You can also split test your subject lines. I use aweber. They allow you to split your list into segments when you're creating a broadcast. You can pick the percentages. I usually pick 20%, 20%, 80%. I test 2 subject lines to the first 40% (20% + 20%), I then email the WINNING subject line to the other 80% 24 hours later.

When splitting your list the smallest group you should test with is 200 people. Any smaller and your test isn't really statistically valid.

When you hit a really great subject line, you can always use that a few weeks later with another email too.

As far as getting a better response from the email itself, that's an entire course. Make sure you're giving GREAT content in 3 emails for every promotion that you do. Also, make sure you're building a relationship with your list. It counts as content to post something where they can leave a comment & email them to tell them to participate. When you do this, GET INVOLVED in the comments. The more people know and like you, the more attention they'll pay to the emails you send. Think about cool stuff you can do to make people like you. It'll improve your profitability, open rate, and overall success...

Split testing is great to improve your open rates, but the biggest thing that will improve them is sending your subscribers quality information most of the time. If you give them good information or help they will keep opening up your emails. Then when you send them the sales offer they will open it up and be more receptive to buying because they trust you and your guidance.
