Do YouTube Views, Likes, Comments, etc. improve it's chance of showing up in the Google SERP's?

I was trying to rank a video in the Google SERP's, and was wondering what sort of an affect that Likes, Views, Comments, Fav's, etc. etc. played in Google's algorithm for determining whether it will show up in the SERP's, and where it will show up? Does anyone know, or could anyone link some concrete info proving/disproving the affect that this has? Or is it all about keywords as oppose to the popularity of the video?

Yes, views, likes, favs and comments have positive impact on the rankings. More recently, time watched views seem to work like a charm. Many services have popped up which are providing time watched views.

Hey Revolution, thanks for the quick help! Could you post any links to people offering these types of views? Thanks in advance!

I agree with Revolution. Activity on YouTube will increase your chances to rank well in Google. The same goes up with ranking a blogpost, without frequent activity it will never stay on a good SERP.

I offer real views if you are interested: link to Fiverr.

Building backlinks to your video will also help it rank higher. I don't offer such a service but there are more than enough good linkbuilders that are willing to help you out.

    Good luck.

Likes, shares, tweets etc are called Social Signals. And the social signals are considered to be vital for search engine rankings. Google's Matt Cutts has revealed the same in many occasions through his webmaster help videos.

Usually the price for 1,000 views is about 3 $. Paying 5.00 USD $ for just 550 views is not a good idea.

$3/1,000 views is rather costly unless it happens to be over 80% retention.

Retention is now a large factor in ranking YouTube videos. However, before you focus on back-linking your video and sending likes/views/favorites to it, you should make sure it's properly optimized. You can rank videos solely on optimization alone on occassion.

ColouredRice, that is very technical talk, you can give few examples of videos which you "optimized"?

An example of my own video? Sorry, I won't give out links to what I do. However, here's a few basic steps to what I'm talking about.

      - Optimize title. The first letter to every word should be capitalized and should also contain your keyword. Very important that it's attention grabbing also.
      - Set up your tags properly.
      - Write a short 200-250 word description in your box containing your keyword at least twice.

There's a few more but I have to go now so just take what I've written above as a few basic starting steps.

Buying views is not really worth it if they are just views, and not engaged interested viewers. I can get you views if you want, I sell 200 for ten dollars on my site, and these are from real people watching the video for thirty seconds to earn points on a social swapping site. I watch the videos myself, and it is a real way to get real people to see your videos. However, You Tube will probably look at all of these thirty second views and think that it's not real people. I can get also get you views through social sharing to my Twitter followers, and by getting random people to tweet the link to your video. This would be much better for rankings.

Lol 200 views for 10$ through social networking is a total rip-of for only 30 second retention. 30 second retention is basically standard almost for all views to begin with.

Didn't realize this thread rose from the grave, but anyways, I already know how to optimize a page, my question was more about views/time on vid/likes/favs, etc. I want to know the breakdown as well... Like if you have 10,000 views, how many likes should you have (roughly), and how many Favs should you have (again, roughly)... Any idea?

There isn't one. It's pretty much all split-testing dependent on your niche.

Although with the recent YT update, I heard videos that have too low of a retention will be pulled and so do videos that have had fake views on them.

They can definitely have a positive impact on getting your videos ranked on Youtube search, if not Google. Recently, I have been focusing on just getting my videos ranked highly in Youtube search. You can still get a ton of visitors this way even if the video is not ranked on Google search. Try it out!

This is the concept of Social Proof and Google loves Social Proof. Of cause videos with more views, likes, comments, etc (these are all votes) will rank more higher on Google.

The views that I deliver are genuine and can't be compared with bot views. If you order thousands of bot views you will get what you pay for obviously.

Anyways. If you are interested: my Real YouTube views gig

    Just my two cents..

There are a few things that impact YouTube performance in the google index...

After a lot of trials, I have found the following key points to help me get to the first page of google for high competitive keywords

    -How you name the video
-Comments, Views, and Subscribers (5.00 service through fiverr)
    -Backlinks (5.00 service through fiverr)

For 10.00 spent i have been able to land videos as the first result in Google searches in top 50 cities in a matter of weeks.

If you have any questions shoot me a PM i'd love to help!
    -Sean

Yes, it does. Buying views wont help much. Embed the video on your own blog and ask other bloggers from your niche to do a guest post. In this way you can get genuine views and find people really interested in your product or services.
