Pinterest for A Supplements Site

Hi,

Just started a new site about bodybuilding supplements. Its not a ecommerce site, its just an adsense site.
But I was wondering how can I use Pinterest for it.
Should I just download images of the supplements from Google images then pin them to Pinterest?
I was thinking maybe I could use them under some sort of 'fair use' licence.

yes, great idea, I would create "labeled" boards, then put the same type of products in the boards and give a description for each one. This way people can follow the boards based on their preference.
I would do the fair use license you do not way any copy wright infringement issues.

    Cheers

Thanks. But I am still a bit unsure if I would have issues with using images I don't have the right to, but I am thinking they wouldn't mind as long as I am promoting their products.

you may design the images by yourself if possible. Take some pics by a camera and give them a small PS touch

I think its best for you to get or buy images which are just a few bucks and then you can pin it and promote your adsense site

If the end goal of taking these supplements is to have a healthy. lean body, then those are the images you would want to use on Pinterest (not just photos of supplements).

I agree with Lokahi - pictures of healthy, toned bodies would be much more effective than just snaps of the supplements themselves. It goes back to the old 'sell the benefits, not the features' rule.
You could also try inspirational quotes around weight loss and self improvement. These tend to be shared a great deal, so can be a brilliant way to drive more traffic to your site.

Thanks to the previous 2 comments.

But does anyone know where I can get pics of fit males and females from that I would be allowed to use?

This is an excellent idea to share pics of inspirational quotes on weight loss. If you don't find pics, you can easily make them yourself. Just Google some weight loss quotes and turn each quote into a picture using MS Paint or any image editing software and share on Pinterest. These will be your own images and you will have full rights over these. You can even add your website URL in small font at the bottom of each image for more branding and exposure.

Yes you can go for Pinterest as it is one of the good ranking social bookmarking websites. You have to submit various images of your eCommerce supplements and it will create good ranking in the long run. As they take only pics and images.

Don't use images from Google images. It is not covered by fair use, you are using it for commercial purposes.

Contact the product manufacturers PR department and ask for images. Do you think the supplement manufacturer will be happy to provide images so that you can use them to make more money? Of course they will!

I actually wrote to Amazon about the re-use of their images and they said to me that so long as a) it's not one of the "user uploaded images" and b) the image was being used to drive traffic to Amazon pages, it was ok to use the image! Your mileage may vary.

You can't affiliate link directly from Pinterest to Amazon but you can create your own landing pages featuring the images, then pin all the images to your own boards.
