Is Linkedin recommendation effective?

A lot of people asking me to recommend them. I don't really know if this is effective as I don't use my linked account for marketing purposes... Any one who have success using linked in?

    LinkedIn is a great resource to have on your Resume... being recommended is the utmost compliment you can get on there and it will certainly help you with your customers and credibility.

      knowing more people is important...Linkedin has the office executive in it and with so much people that might see your profile..that being said Yes! it would benefit you in one way or another.

    I would say a recommendation from someone (especially someone influential) is very powerful. Many recruiters and hiring managers are Googling candidates’ names before an interview or after so why not give them something positive to see. In my opinion, you should develop your personal brand across the web as much as you can. Put out as much stuff as you can about your professional background and what you are trying to be.

    Recommendations are good because they are like references for employers. They can see that someone else has made a commitment to go online and write something positive about you. This is in contrast to LinkedIn’s new endorsements which don’t require as much thought or commitment and may not sway an employer all that much.

    Yes this feature is in fact a great addition and I love it. This build credibility so yes it helps you get established to your chosen field.
