Theres really two aspects that come into play when you want to succeed through social media marketing.

1. Create a compelling fan page and start promoting it and try and get as many likes as you can.
2. For twitter try and get as many followers as you can and theres some great sites that can help make that happen. try twiends.com or tweetadder.com

However the most important thing is you must make sure you interact with your customer base if you want to see results. Thats what social media is all about.

As for Facebook, create a fanpage, fill it with catchy and quality content, and then invite friends to view and like the page. Ask your friends to invite others as well. Post an invitation or a teaser to the website on your wall, with a link, and invite them to click on the link. As for twitter, tweet about your site with a link to it, and an invitation to your followers.

Create a facebook fanpage and get as many likes as possible. Once you posted a message in your facebook wall and all the people who liked you page will receive the message and montize them with your google adsense website or click bank products.

give value to your subscribers
offer something for exchange of likes
run contest and ask for like your page
plus leave a comment on the page of the contest
so when they like your page
your page appers to their friend also the comment that they leave
in your page appears on their news feed
if you have a good contest you can generate a lot of likes
on you fanpage
