I have a life insurance business and set up a facebook page. Since I target parents, my posts are about kids, healthy living, and from time to time insurance - obviously i don't want to bombard people with just boring insurance info.

I'm doing a facebook ad targetting parents to get more likes. My ad has a family picture and says "Like for tips to stay healthy and protect family. Compare life insurance from 30 carriers". So far I have a click through of .025%, 33 clicks, and no new likes from those clicks.

Time to revamp the campaign, or too early to tell? Have had it going for 3 days at $10 a day. Any ideas from anyone?

Is the page there landing on a tab with fan gating? Your much less likely to get likes if you direct people just to your timeline.

I don't have a fan gate now, i had one when I did a sweepstakes for an Ipod Shuffle - but even that campaign only got me about 20 likes.

I have done a few FB ad campaigns, little disappointing if you ask me, I would re-vamp the and try to offer some type of insurance discount etc... Tips are readily accessible via the internet.. Try and do something more "worth while"

insurance is not priced with a discount - prices for life insurance are based on health, coverage amount, etc..I did do a sweepstakes and it didn't get the results I wanted..I offered an ipod shuffle which is a $50 prize...i think a better prize will work better, but I don't know that I want to spend $200 oor $300 on a sweepstakes prize.

I think your problem with your sweepstakes was that you offered the wrong prize. How many parents out there want an iPod shuffle badly? You need to give something the parents could use. A $50 gas card or grocery store gift card (WalMart?) would be a lot more inciting to me (Im a parent) than a iPod shuffle.

If you decide to do another sweepstakes, or if you just want a fan gated landing page for your ads to point to check this out:

PS I think $50 is a good prize amount, however make it a 2x a month thing, so it would cost you $100 per month, the advantage is this. People get to see other people win, so they know your not BS. The 'pool' wont be so huge each time, so people are more likely to win (hence more likely to like you so they can enter), and finally since your doing only $50 at a pop you can always stop if it is not profitable.
