Risk in buying a facebook fanpage?

I am curious if buying a fb fanpage is legal / safe ?
There are some people contacting me to buy a fanpage with huge numbers of likes.

    I see people selling them all the time but the problem is you have no way of knowing how well it converts.

    Well, there is obviously a high risk. Mostly, because you can't really know where is the traffic comes from. If you really would like to buy, always check the number of likes, posts, shares for a post, because if the activity is high, there are probably real users.

    Be careful, some people making business with it: make fan pages with fake likes and sell it for others. It would worth nothing for you. But people who spent months or more with building a Facebook Page with a huge fan basis won't sell it, except for a very good price.

    Is it legal, Nope. You can not legally sell something you do not own. Facebook has full ownership of any page created on their website.

    Is it safe, Sure. Despite not being legal Facebook don't really monitor the changes you make when assigning admins etc.

    Is it worth it, Nope. If you are going to pay for anything, pay for sales material and targeted ads. Do you really think someone would sell it if it's already making money for them?

    Its not legal to sell a fan page but yes someone can make you administrator of a particular fan page. I think if you are only interested in getting likes, then there are several such services. But if you are looking for genuine fan page likes, then you need to work hard. These are the pages that really converts.
