Optimizing facebook ads

I have a "like" campaign in the parenting segment. I've paid $9.34 for 28 clicks, or about a 30 cents a click, which seems terribly high.

The cost has come down signficantly since I set it to optimize impressions.
I took the ads down from 17 to about 8 (.2% to .4% CTR, which seems pretty good to me.) I have 1900 total reach, 8.2 frequency. The list is 4,000 people.

Should I just start lowering my bids? Or is there something else to do?

Thanks!

You should have a second ad running so you can compair. The thing that jumps out to me is that your frequency is 8.2 , meaning on average each of your targeted people are seeing it 8x, thats a lot for them to see the ad and not click.

You say you paid for 28 clicks but thats not the important thing since this is a 'like' campaign, how many actions did you get?

Thanks for your note. I'm sorry I wasn't clear.

      I had 17 ads running. Now I have 8.
      Here are my stats:
      • Actions?
        23
      • Campaign reach?
        1,897
      • Frequency?
        8.3
      • Social reach?
        118
      • Clicks?
        29
      • Click-Through Rate?
        0.185%
      • Total Spent?
        $9.35
My CTRs range from .126% to 1.13%. Most are around .3% to .4%.

For some reason my ads now seem not to be showing. The campaign isn't paused, and there's money in it. But I don't see any of the statistics changing.

      Any suggestions would be great.

If your ads are not showing it could be a few things, your billing budget is close to the limit or your bid is too low. As for the ads, are you running test ads? Have you tweaked the winnig ads?

There’s a number of things you could look at here. One thing would be your facebook ad targeting and see how thoroughly you’re targeting people’s interests.

Another would be to adjust the bid on the ones getting good conversions (or switching those that get more clicks to CPM) if you know it converts well, than jack your bid up on the CPM so you get more impressions, and hopefully, higher conversions. CPM is generally is less expensive that CTR too, so if you know that it already converts well, spend more money on getting it impressions.

CTR without conversions is just a waste of money, so I would really not be putting much effort into that, unless it’s to improve the conversions post click.
