I mean...who hasn't?

Well here's what happened to a page that had 3,200 Fake Likes...

Now there's only about 900 'Fans' left...

LOL

Yepper. Facebook must be getting very good at recognizing and removing these profiles...

It's extremely noticable in March for a couple of older pages I used them on.

Luckily I didn't drop too much on this crap

Earn it the hard way. They always crack down on this sort of thing eventually. It looks good, but that's it's only use I can see. Get real people who are real fans, they'll be ready for every update

Yes only pay for real marketing services where they are getting your link out there, placing your ads out there, spreading the word, suggesting to their friends, etc. NO FAKE tricks for any kind of marketing should be used - they just give us hard working people that take the Internet seriously a bad name. Don't buy them, don't sell them. If you need "fake" numbers to get you started, beg your friends, family, online contacts and your own accounts. Offer bribes for suggesting the page to contacts to people you know who have thousands of friends / followers. Give away something cool for free, if they like your page.

Just run a fb "likes" ad campaign in your relevant niche. If you do it right, you can get a great deal of real people to become fans of your page for a couple of cents per click/like.

Well, buying fake likes is more suitable to fanpages that is recently created and after that you need viral content to boost the page likes, an interesting content or a live community.

Facebook is shutting these down as fast as they're getting added in some cases

I only buy them sometimes to make a site look more trustworthy. New and REAL visitors will more likely like the site if there are existing likes... and these real likes will (hopefully) stay. Its just a push for the beginning but I absolutely can understand people who are against these methods.

For a website it's not as big of a deal. Your fan page will grow slowly, if at all anyway, so having some fakes on the associated Fan Page doesn't matter as much.

But for Facebook Fan Pages it's useless. If you plan on updating a lot it will kill your EdgeRank, which means very few of your fans will ever see your updates.

When you pay for Facebook Ads, the results move so quickly that people join, regardless of how many Likes you start with. Plus your EdgeRank is great - because they're participation is real.

Check out my latest Facebook Fan page. Started on 3/22/2013 and a total of $24 spent. Real growth is astronomical.

Actually, having less number of real fans are more useful than having thousands of bot fans. If you buy fans, the only growth you will see in your page in the "Unlike" graph. Best of luck for your new likes.

Buying likes is fine if you just want to increase that number at the top of your page, but it wont increase your traffic.

Run an ad campaign, share content with other pages, do a contest and post great content, things that will give you real leads and not just digits

Likes just represent for SEO purpose not for quality and traffic. So when you intending to purchase like, you have to prepare good campaign and contents for your page.
