Facebook Groups = Traffic?

I'm starting to join a ton of Facebook Marketing groups. They all contain marketers, or people that already have their own businesses, so i figured this would be a good place to promote marketing related tools, tips, and tricks. The only problem is, everyone else is probably doing this, so should i really commit to advertising here?

I think it's just a waste of time honestly.. you would need to post to 50 groups daily to get a few visitors..everybody there are just promoting their own stuff..not searching for other people's stuff..

    Just my 2 cents

It depends what you plan to market. If you're marketing services, I think you would come across to most of the members as someone who can offer value. However, if you have your own programs you're trying to market, it's going to be hard to really get people to be interested since, like you said, they are already busy trying their own things.

The only time this can work is if you have a particular program that can accelerate/add to another particular program. Now, if you're just sharing tools/tricks on a blog and putting links to it, you will get a little click through, but again, it's all about perceived value from your audience. Put yourself in their shoes.

It really depends on the group, and what you're promoting.

If you're not spamming and its something related to the group, it could be useful.

I the group is full of lots of others doing the same thing, your promotions will get lost, unless you have something interesting to say.

I'd say it's a little like forum traffic - if the forum is spammed it's pointless, but if it is a nicely moderated place, and the promotions are done properly, i.e. in here through signature links, it can be worthwhile.

In the same way as it does with a forum, this will also give you the opportunity to become better known.

So I'd say it is worth it, with the right groups, and that's for your to decide and monitor.

Focus on being real helpful and establishing a reputation as a GENUINE AUTHORITY. Once you are able to do that, people will listen MORE to you than some dude who hit the group with drive by spam. You have to put in the time. That's how things work. Also, you have to contribute high quality content. The good news is that the more you do it, the better you will get at it. Eventually, you might figure out how to achieve the right ROI. But prepare to pound sand at first.

From what I know, most people do not click on other user's post; only on the admin's posts.

I don't think it's a waste of time if you use it correctly. If you are there with just a promotional mindset then you probably won't see much value from the time you spend because people won't get to know you and like you. If you use these groups as a way to interact and network with others then the time spent can be very valuable. Spend the majority of your time providing help and value to those of the group and building your reputation as that of an expert so that people will come to know you, like you, and trust you. At that point they will be attracted to the offers you have and trust that you are providing them with programs, systems, or tools that will really benefit them. Like others have already said, though, this will take an investment of your time so don't expect to join these groups and make all sorts of money right off the bat.

I've noticed a VERY CLEVER way some marketers do this. They don't go to groups where other marketers hang out (talk about trying to sell ice to eskimoes LOL). Instead, they use a mind-map approach to FB groups and sections. Very clever.

Why don't you grow your own list of subscribers and then encourage them to join your Facebook group so that you will be able to interact with them. Most real responsive FB groups do not allow the members to post messages due to the spam issue.

Facebook groups are good way of sharing things and building a brand. But for traffic, I wouldn't count on it. Most groups die after a while not matter how many people you have in them.

I, too, have begun to post in groups. Someone recently recommended posting twice a day in 20-30 groups. So I'm giving it a shot to see what happens.

I'm on day two so I can't give much feedback.

One effective approach I've noticed is to post WATERMARKED photos. The photos have to be relevant to your page. From your page, get them to your list. Also, the stuff on your page can be shared by your list members. It's all tied in. YOu can even go the extra step and recycle your pics by posting them on PINTEREST.

Choose some best groups. Have a unique approach to them. I know Facebook groups are very active and many people are doing it already but it doesnt mean you shouldnt do it. Try to participate in as many groups as you can.
    good luck

You need to join groups on topics that are going to be your customer and position yourself as a leader in your area. For example, if you build links for a living, find groups that need help with their seo....this might take a little research, but your results will be better. You need to solve a problem for people, that's when they come to you.

You have to be extremely selective as to the groups to join. Most of them are drown in spam. Nobody reads there anything and your post will immediately sink down in the junk because of many thousands of members shooting their trash automatically all the time. It's a pain to unearth a well moderated group worth of your attention. Most groups are like toilets for spam.

I find Facebook groups work well for me. But I believe that you need to go into them with the view that you are trying to build a relationship with people and not just flog them something. Contribute to the group, offer value and then you will find that people will be receptive to your offers. All social media needs to marketed to in a more 'touchy feely' way - any attempt at the hard sell just turns people off.

It's a waste of time if you're going to do what every other 'marketer' does and go on a group and attempt to picture your product/opportunity. If you're not giving value and just selling to people you'll just look spammy and they won't think two thoughts about what you have to say.

  • Is there a course on marketing to facebook groups which any one can recommend?

Seems there is an opening but needs a good course to maximise results and avoid breaking FB's TOS.

FB Groups are viable traffic sources but the only problem is "stickability". In the biggest groups there is so much activity that your post will disappear in no time.

    Hi
Facebook marketing are good for social media marketing.
Make a fan page for your product.
Make tabs on the fan page, sales pages, squeeze page, and perhaps a contest
Run a targeted ad to the fan page (preferably to one of the tabs)
But You can use other social media – LinkedIn, Twitter, Google +, Pinterest etc. Choose which one is better for your business and promote your products there.Visit now for other social media sites
