Viral videos - YOUTUBE

I recently uploaded a video to youtube. I believe it's funny, and having 50 likes on facebook in just half an hour on my personal profile, convinces me that other people do as well.

However my youtube account has never been overly active, therefor since uploading last night, it has received ZERO views.

I was just wondering how people that have no subscription base on youtube to start with get there videos out there? How people go about building a subscription base to begin with? and how it is possible to begin to make money out of a youtube account!

Thank you!

You need to optimize your video in youtube like title, description, tags and annotations

To make money off of a youtube account you need to enable monitization. It is in your account settings, also you will need an adsense account because youtube pays through adsense(I believe youtube is owned by google)

As for making a video viral i would think the same way you promote a webpage is the same way to promote a video. You could try posting to reddit

Yes, Google owns YouTube so you should also optimize your videos to monetize them including tag and description optimization. Be alert to tag updates and what your competitors are up to. Try using the keyword tool on YouTube and check for your keywords and how often they are searched. Use YouTube Analytics and check your traffic sources so you'll know what keywords they search and what suggested videos they are watching. Good luck!
