Google Plus Questions

Hi all,

I'm somewhat new to niche sites and I was hoping someone could answer my questions about Google Plus.

First, can I use a pseudonym for the account? I'm using one for my site and want to continue protecting my privacy.

Second, is it absolutely necessary that I include a picture with my profile? If so, can this picture be of something else other than me? For example, my site's logo?

I can see that Google Plus is an essential social media tool, but I don't want to give up my anonymity, or worse, go against Google's Terms of Service and hurt my new site before it's even had a chance.

I couldn't find the answers to my questions on any of the Google pages, so I'd be grateful for any help.

    Hey.

    I'm still getting used to Google Plus. I'm not great at Social Media. I've decided not to be anonymous which comes with it's own course of action.

    The thing is, you can always create a new gmail account which comes with a brand new Google Plus account automatically. But here's the thing I've learned from it...

    I'm pretty sure you have to be a "person" on there. So you will have to use a pen name to be "somebody" you can't use Google Plus for the name of a business or corporation.

    But you can create Google Plus pages for that purpose.

    And no pictures are not necessary. But I'm pretty sure you can use any picture you want. It's not like their "nickname" feature where they can detect if you use dot com or more than one word as your nick name.

    A picture can't really be moderated until after you uploaded it, but still. Obviously if it's not offensive or graphic they're not going to bug you.

    Google+ profiles must need the real name and human picture otherwise profile will get banned. As of Google+ Business page you can have your website logo and website details.

    be careful of google + and using fake "plusses". If you have loads of plusses and no referred traffic, this sends a signal that your site is referred a lot, but not really interesting - ie spammy.

      How about using company profile? Is it possible? I tried doing this in past but I was not able to do so. Anything did something similar to this?

    You can create a Publisher account on Google if you are interested in using your logo.. BTW it has same importance as the google authorship is...

    I would also suggest you just create a Google Plus business page rather a individual fake account that can get you banned.

    When using Google plus, be careful not to use fake plusses all your use engagement ratings drop through the floor, and this tells Google your site is not interesting
