Anyone using Facebook hashtags successfully?

Facebook now enables the use of hashtags - for example #motivation - in posts.

Starting today, hashtags will be clickable on Facebook. Similar to other services like Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, or Pinterest, hashtags on Facebook allow you to add context to a post or indicate that it is part of a larger discussion. When you click on a hashtag in Facebook, you'll see a feed of what other people and Pages are saying about that event or topic.

I've tested a hashtag in a couple of Facebook posts, last week and today. A hashtag didn't work for me last week (in Australia) but one worked - it's clickable - today.

Has anyone figured out how to use this new tool intelligently to attract new visitors and sales?

Facebook says:

How do I use hashtags?

Hashtags turn topics and phrases into clickable links in posts on your personal timeline or your Page, and help people find posts about topics they're interested in. To make a hashtag, write # (the number sign) along with a topic or phrase written as one word and add it to your post (ex: I walked up so many hills today! #SanFrancisco).

When people click a hashtag, they'll see a feed of posts that have been shared with them that are also using it.

I noticed some annoying posts in which some Facebook users have made posts that are just a list of dozens of words ALL with hashtags. That seems really stupid. It doesn't make sense to annoy your visitors. (Perhaps Facebook should make only the first use of a hashtag clickable in each post.)

It looks to me as though there should be a good opportunity here for smart people, while Facebook hashtags still new and lots of people are exploring them.

Any ideas?

I first noticed this when setting up a new ad today. The keywords had hashtags in front of them, which when selected, increased the target reach dramatically, from about 2.8m to 14m. Not sure if this will have any effect yet.

Yeah, it seems a little too early to tell anything, but there's no harm in using them the same way you use them on Twitter.

I'm using them as I do in twitter. Yes, it took a while till hashtags started to work fine.
So, as I analyzed, my insights slightly grew up, about 1k-2k reach per post. And I believe they'll work better when way more people will start using them properly.
