Building a social presence for a charity(help)

Warriors,

I need some help. I am a Shriner, we support 21 hospitals that are FREE to the patients. We raise a lot of money for charity. I do PR work for my local Shrine (Pittsburgh). I just got the task of building a social media platform to increase publicity and help raise money. Where on earth shoud I start. I was thinking of FB and Twitter, but how to get the word out about out fundraising activities and all of the good work that we do. I am really in over my head here. I do a little bit of affiliate marketing, and I recently discoved this site. So I know a little. I got this task because I am one of the few active members who is under 60. HELP ME !!! I appreciate any suggestions.

    see how they are utilizing the power of social media.

    You need to analyze the market first and see how other people in the same niche are doing it. Then there will be hundreds of ideas which you can use to raise funds and all.

    First build the foundation to show that you are popular and worth supporting. Here is a plan to do it for a low cost using Facebook ads:

    Once you have an established following you can point to, leverage this to get local and national supporters to give more money! This worked with a local charity I promoted.
