How to get people on facebook and instagram to like your new facebook page?

If you have a new facebook page and you are trying to get more likes, what's the best way to convince people to 'Like' it? You can have the best content in the world but people aren't really motivated to 'like' a page that has no people or activity on it.

Also, what's the best way to promote a facebook page on instagram? It's so easy to get people on instagram to like your images but how do you get them to convert to liking your facebook page? I've tried posting up my facebook page on my image captions.

Facebook ads are a good way to go to get yourself started. The key to FB ads is to narrow your audience is much as you can so that the people who see your ads are more likely to be interested. This will lead to a lower CPC. Another good thing to do is to make the ad in such a way so that it instructs people to click the like button. For example I saw an ad for a dog themed fan page that had the graphic "I [heart] DOGS" and the text said .. "click like if you love dogs"
Im quite sure that ad is doing well.

Tell your Instagram followers to go like your favebook page because you will be posting giveaways/discounts/special offers on your Facebook page that you will not be showing on your Instagram account. That always works for me!

Yea, I'm actually starting up a facebook CPM campaign with heavy targetting at $5 per day. Does anyone know how facebook treats advertisers if they are unable to pay for the ads on time? Not saying I will pay for the ads late but I'm just curious.

The advice regarding the dog ad campaign.....great tip! Hadn't thought of that

For the Instagram advice, I didn't think of that either. Problem is....I have no idea what kinds of contests to do. How can I reward people if I don't have money for actual prizes? I can feature their content but it's a waste if my facebook page has no buzz on it. It's like going to Disneyland and having a poster of me at the front of the gate and no people will view it. There's no notoriety.

It depends on what your facebookpage is about. If its centered around affiliate marketing and you're posting links to products, you could create your own product or ebook and give it out for free for a limited time.

The facebook page I made is about funny kitty memes. No products....just memes. The main reason to 'like' it is to see funny images that will entertain you, which is the same reason people like 9gag, grumpy cat, memecenter, and other meme places. Mine is about kitties.

@waynemoney - I'll check the site out, thanks Also, I've got 2 facebook pages I'm promoting:

facebook.com/LOLJamsters - This is for the official site, LOLJam.com. Full of both funny images, memes, and interesting news. Other sites have just memes. LOLJam has more. I promote it, but I don't own it. When I found out about the page, it had already around 2,000 likes so now I'm trying to engage users and promote it more.

facebook.com/FunnyKittenMemes - You've got 9gag, 4chan, GrumpyCat, MemeCenter, etc. Now you have kitties. Most sites have categories for kitties. I don't have a category. I have an entire site for it I own and manage it. Based on FunnyKittenMemes.com. It's very new but I'm trying to kick things off.
