Which Social Network would you be referring too? If you are talking about Twitter then yes, go for it. I try to hash tag as often as I can. If you are talking about Facebook, then I say no, not for a while. Hash tags are very new on Facebook and many people are not yet accustom to them. I have found that many people on Facebook actually do not like them. I think this is because many of them are not familiar with twitter and hash tags. Eventually, this will change though. I just would not want to scare anyone off because you are hash tagging all over the place on Facebook.

Yeah, it really depends on what social sites you're on.

On Twitter, it's best to use hashtags, even though your keywords come up in a search. Use hashtags that are specific to your topic, but not necessarily in your tweet text.

On Facebook, I'd say try it out. Yes, they're super new, but I think it's a great way to find new Fans, and kinda market your Page to your audience. search for some #'s being used now that relate to your page content, and use them.

On Tumblr. Yes, you need to use hashtags. It spreads your posts to people interested in your topics more than keywords in your pieces.

I agree. hashtags are one way to promote your business and make it viral. When you hashtag, you attract people that are not in your followers or contact list. It is one way of letting people know about your topic or brand.

Its possible, but hashtags are used to group certain posts which belong to a common topic. Its very useful when you do it because it helps your post get the attention it needs from those who have the same interests as you...

I use select keywords from my post as hashtags. I believe Pinterest stopped using hashtags a few months ago, so, I stick with using them on Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, and Instagram.

I personally hate hashtags because I hate the whole twitter culture but they might be useful if you use them properly, such as hashtagging popular products or holidays.
