People that have used Facebook "Boosted" posts...

Once you post something on your page, a simple click to boost followed by entering the value does the job to boost your post.

I just realised today when you go from the "Created ads" section and the 2nd option "promote page posts" automatically I get 2 countries appearing that will targeted "Pakistan" "United Kingdom" ..

Does this mean Facebook have been automatically targeting these 2 countries all along? According to my knowledge Facebook stated boosted posts go to friends of friends who liked your page? correct me if I'm wrong here...

Thanks

You can boost a post to everyone Facebook as well as just fans and those who have liked you.

Some things to keep in mind:

If you have ever purchased likes boosting posts is a bad idea.
The CPM for a boosted post is much higher (7-8X) than just running an ad.

What I'm trying to say is when using the quick option on your page clicking bottom right "boosted post" which audience is this going to?

According to the "create ad" section mine is selected on Pakistan/UK.

I've never bought likes, they're all organic and without a doubt boosted posts wins over all the tests I've done.

Can you define how you are determining 'win'?

My goal right now is to achieve good engagement on the page as well as increasing the LIKES. Boosted posts are winning for me.

When you click on "boost post" it will give you option either to target fans and friends of fans OR location targeting. On location targeting you can choose any city/state or country. Default location targeting is probably based upon your own location but you can change it.
And all this you can do is right from page itself without going Ad manager interface.
        Thanks
        Adnan

Thanks for the informative reply, it doesn't allow me to change the current default location - that's the problem.
