Can you build a list through Facebook?

Hi there,
I really need to build my email list, but was wondering If this can be done through Facebook as well as other websites with squeeze pages.
I have mailchimp, and would like to know If It is possible to offer a free ebook on my facebook business page in exchange for email address...
Is there apps to do this, can it be set up easily?
Any clues?

Micknal,

I know that mailchimp has signup forms as part of its services and they can be applied to Facebook pages but I’m not sure about forms that allow for downloads. Maybe this will guide you,

Alternatively, if you are familiar with coding you could build your own. All you would need is a link to a zip file in a hyperlink and an attractive web form displayed through facebook.

I'm pretty sure there is an app from mailchimp to FB, if you have people subscribe through that form you should be able to use the autoresponder in mailchimp to send them the download or link when they subscribe. If you need help I don't mind assisting on skype: marygreencny

  Facebook offers is about to come to an end. They are terminating this feature. However you can build a list. Have a contest or sweepstakes on a tab on your fan page. Direct an ad at that tab. You will quickly build a targeted list.

Create a fanpage if you haven't one and then use the static html app to create your squeeze page there.
If you already have a squeeze page on your domain you can just link to that.

I have video tutorials for that on my youtube channel if you're interested.

I always like to think of Facebook as a public "space" where you can invite people to join you. From there, you can get them to go to another page (off-site) where they give you their emails to get free stuff. Always give them something useful or interesting that they care about.

You can build a list through any platform you want to, but you need to study your audience, and you need to devote just as much time and energy as you would to developing any other medium.

There are no shortcuts, no matter what the WSOs say.
