Getting Sales From Facebook?

Hi,

I started a user from profile for my furniture website brand and within 2 made friends with 280 other local small businessess. Self-employed builders, independent florists etc. I also joined around 30 selling groups.

I am interested to know whether it is worth using Facebook as a useful tool to make sales from affiliate links.

I am planning to link to 5000 small businesses and post cheap clearance links to Amazon on sales pages. This could be considered spamming but they are sales pages in which anything goes.

I did post quite a few links over the course of an and only go 84 click throughs to Amazon but its still better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

You could make more money promoting your furniture business, and revealing good deals you have in those groups.

Instead of focusing on pages that allow spam.. look for pages where people could be interested in buying your furniture. Post pics up there every day to those people, and try to connect with a few new people every day who may also be interested in buying your furniture.

Marketing online isn't just about selling affiliate products, and selling your own products is generally more profitable, at least from my experience.

      Thanks,

I have tried looking for furniture groups but there aren't any, they all seem to local selling groups.

Furniture buyers are every day people, but I'd focus on finding people who are just moving to town. Just rented an apartment or bought a house.. those people NEED stuff.

On facebook, you shouldn't be looking for them, you should be attracting them.

I'm not sure if you're selling new or used furniture, but it's a pretty easy business to network and be successful with in most local areas. When I sold my painting business at 19 and moved to Indy, I started working with a guy who owned an auto auction and 2 furniture stores.

In the beginning he was focusing on his locations alone, but I got him into advertising and networking in the right places and bumped up his furniture sales quite a bit.

So he put me in charge of a car lot and I failed miserably! I couldn't live with myself selling used cars to people who needed a quality car. I did buy a few for myself and flip them for a profit.. but most used cars I wouldn't put anyone in!

People aren't there to buy on Facebook. You can use Facebook as a lead source but understand why people are there. Just placing affiliate links in front of them won't do very well.
