Vatican offers 'time off purgatory' to followers of Pope Francis tweets | World news | The Guardian

For those who don't know purgatory is that place you go to if you are not bad enough to go to hell but not good enough to go straight to heaven.

In the old days of corruption the Catholic Church made a fortune by charging people to reduce their sentence in purgatory.

I guess soon you'll get more points for retweets, Facebook shares and Youtube responses.

This has got to be the best incentive I've seen to increase your social media activity.

    I'm not Catholic, but I'm interested in seeing how the current Pope communicates with the younger, more connected (tech-wise) crowd. While this is cool for them, I wonder how he's going to keep the older generations happy as well.
