I for one hate useless retweeting. Some people I follow do a lot of retweeting - luckily I discovered the other day on my phone that you can stop retweets showing from certain people going via their profile and their settings.

I'm all for retweeting but there is a limit to how many things you retweet daily, it should be used preciously.

I prefer things streamlined myself...can't deal with too many tweets and retweets flying at me, so I assume my clients and readers feel the same way.

Too many tweets and RTs will definitely tick real people so they'll pretty much stop following you.

RT if the content is worthwhile ... taste test your tweets. Click on the URL and read the copy and make an observation to add YOUR VOICE to the discussion.

If you are writing quality content frequently then social media promotion too much cannot go wrong otherwise do it in limit.

  • Tweeting too often is the fastest way to get unpolluted. Your best bet is always to use a healthy mix of tweets and retreats to strengthen your marketing message.

For Facebook, same thing but content sharing from your blog as a status update shouldn't be used in your post count limit.

I've seen it best to tweet about 4 times through the day and maybe 2 to 4 retweets as long as what you are sharing is valuable to your audience.

Facebook, three status updates throughout the day is more then enough...

No i don't think so if you are tweeting much that will effect repute if you are getting replies on that tweet that will make good followers and will increase your repute.

Yea but if your Tweeting a hundred times a day... Even if the majority are sharing it and loving it, there's still gonna be another part of your fan base that's gets irritated and either ignores you or just plain unfolds you.

Personally I don't care for Face Book pages that over share. I am on one who has built his sight up over 21k likes and some days he share 10 or more things. He probably could get by with 2 or 3. I think people get annoyed unless as said earlier it is high quality content...

I think that people that tweet too frequently are probably wasting their time as who is going to read them? As stated above, tweets should add value to someone. If they don't then they are not going to be read and so will dilute their overall message. I think it is the same with any messaging, you will turn off readers if the quantity of information reaches a point that it becomes a nuisance.
