How to "Hijack" Competitor Customers! [Twitter]

I use this technique for few weeks and it works good, of course for different products different results, sometime no results at all

Main thing is to sell products those who follow you back, because they will be targeted customers. You need a good product and you have to find on twitter competitor with related product and a lot of followers.

Set up welcome message (write something that will attract attention) and follow your competitor followers. When someone will follow you back, he/she will get your thank you message with your product, service or whatever else what you want him to get.

For this strategy I use software, but it can be done with free tools which you easily can find online.

Good idea - I like that.

Keep your ear to the ground and when you hear of a competitor going out of business hit all their Twitter followers.

Yep, valid strategy. The most important bit is to have a better product than your competitors, of course. Easy to overlook that bit sometimes.

I am on fence about instant message after someone follows you. Personally, I delete everyone of them in my twitter account. But I am curious if anyone ever really opens those messages.

In software which I use is this feature. But if you would like just to try it without buying any software, you can try to search in Google for something like "free welcome message twitter", because about three years ago I used free online program and there was this feature, unfortunately I do not remember site domain.

Tweetadder used to be a lot better before twitter came down on them and they had to change their software IMHO but still looking for good alternative which is becoming harder to find
