Facebook Fan Pages? Can I use a product/business name that I am not affiliated with for my page

I want to create a fan page of a business or product (use the name in the page title). I do not work for them I just like them. I am asking because I was going to make a fanpage, but it asks the if I am affiliated with them and what the official webpage is.
Is there any issue here that I should be aware of?

    You should say no that your not affiliated with them. This will make the page an 'unofficial page' meaning not run by them.

    The only issue is if you pretend to be an 'official page' and you are not.

      Now if the official page / or owner raise any complaint against your page with Face Book, I am afraid, your page will go down.

      Better you ask the brand that you won't to create fan page of them and if they don't have any issue with it; it is better to be safe and sure before you setup page.
      It would be worst scenario, if you work hard to setup page and bring traffic to it and later they make complaint on you.

      Better to be safe / sure than sorry.

    that sucks. The brand is to big. Could I work around it? For example a fan page about food instead of a fan page about hot dogs. Or a phrase used by the business instead of a fan page about the business?
