Creating multiple accounts and sharing my own backlinks

So what if I were to create multiple accounts on say StumbleUpon - PR 8 - and add a (DoFollow) backlink to my site from each account? I'm not going to just in case but could StumbleUpon or Google figure it out?

Being that this is the social media section of the forum, I'll tell you not to waste your time with all of that nonsense and focus on growing your presence in the social media outlets like Facebook, Pinterest, etc and you'll get more traffic than your web hosting plan most likely can handle - and you won't care about backlinks and kissing Google's ass.

This. And never can be mentioned enough. Content is king. Create quality content and people WILL share without your work.

Facebook and Google+ are mostly intended for community building. You can easily build a loyal following for your brand or site by actively engaging your followers with interesting posts, rather than simply trying to spam a few high pr links.

How about someone actually answer this question?

Will StumbleUpon or Google figure a scheme like this out, like with IP tracking, even if you have totally separate accts?
