Facebook ads - what do you prefer?

Hi, I have been thinking about facebook ads lately and if I should do it or not. As I thought about it, I wondered if I should make ads to get more likes on my fan page or if I should send people directly to my squeeze page.

What do you prefer and what do you do mostly?

    Cheapest and best overall is to get likes and fans! later on you can direct them to your squeeze page!

    Both at the same time... Create a PPC campaign promoting your page then create a capture page using a facebook fan page tab. Make sure in the "Landing View" section you select the tab you want the visitor to land on when they click your Ad. Directing people to facebook will help you get cheap cost per click as compared to sending them to an external page. I even get $0.05 clicks

    Note: it's 5 cents per click for both a "like" and when someone visit the fan page tab

    It depends on the campaign you are running. For some it will make sense to build fans on your page. For others it will make more sense to send them directly to your squeeze page.

    I would need to know more details before I could say either way. It depends what your main objective is also.

      My main goal is to get people to opt in to my list so I can build my list. I was thinking to try both building a fan page and sending people to my external landing page.

      My thoughts on building a fan page is that I can direct them to my landing page later, and when I have more people on my fan page it is more likely that the fan page will grow when the fans share pictures etc.

    Run a contest on the fan page and get people to opt in. Its the same thing as a squeeze page really. Give away something related to your niche. Everyone who enters the contest will be interested in that niche (since the want to product your giving away) To all the people who dont win, after the contest ends, send them a nice email, thanking them for entering, sorry they didnt win .. but hey here is a discount code / link / URL ... on that product for you. XXX% off just because you took the time to enter our contest.
