How To Keep My Twitter Account From Being Suspended?

by 4 comments
I was looking on the internet for a twitter strategy to help get more followers and it went something like this.

1) Find people in your niche
2) Look at the people that are following them, and follow those people
3) Follow 100-200 people a day so that your account doesn't get suspended
4)After about a week, unfollow all of the people that aren't following you.

I've been doing exactly as outline, and over the course of a couple of days I have gotten about 200 followers but I woke up this morning and my account was suspended and said that many of the people that I followed reported me as spam.

Does anyone know how to do this method correctly? I guess this time is just a warning suspension but they said if it happens again it can possibly be permanent.

Also, if you have any other good strategies on how to increase followers, please share.

Thanks,
Chris C.

I was suspended once and the reason was that I followed too many people at once. I follow about 30 people MAX a day. I also constantly flush people who do not follow me back every 10 days. You are following way to many people. Follow less than 100 people a day to be safe. You can still get great results with social media without following tons of people.

It's also not recommended to follow many people at once. If you follow 30 people in just a minute - this is frowned upon by Twitter. The reasons for your account suspension could be different. You might sent out too many tweets with links or your content is overly promotional so folks reported your profile. They also could be annoyed by auto direct messages containing sales offers or something. Other automation tools can cause serious problems like this as well.

I tried this method as well and I got suspended too. I only got like 100 followers out of it anyways so it's not even worth it

It is mentioned in their terms of services that if there are many people reporting you as spam, they'll have to suspend your account. Twitter's rules when it comes to spamming will change each time they detect new tactics from spammers so you'll have to be careful with your account.
