Does Youtube Transcribe Videos?

I read somewhere that youtube transcribe videos and your chances of ranking are high if you say your keyword optimum number of times to get ranked well in google and youtube.

If that is the case, will my chances of getting ranked reduce if I am making slide type videos with background music?

Thanks.

    Hi,

I've never heard of YouTube transcribing videos. You may be confusing what you read with something else. Personally, I'd never recommend "stuffing" keywords anywhere. Just write and present your content naturally and use the title and description to let your readers (and the search engines) know what your content is about, Also, always use a "call to action" in your title, description, last presentation slide or all three.

As far as using slide presentations with background music is concerned, I do it all the time. Some rank well and some don't. Some get picked up for use by other websites.

In addition to putting a link in the description of your videos, I'd also recommend putting the URL of your home page at the bottom of each presentation slide. That way you'll still receive traffic if someone else uses one of your videos on their site.

    HTH,

    Joe

YouTube does provide captions of your videos but if you aren't a native speaker they have a hard time making sense of what you're trying to say.

I just went through several videos at YouTube, mine and several others, and it looks like they're only able to do the transcriptions on voice recordings. Many of mine have royalty free music and none of them have the transcription option. I noticed that a couple songs were the same way.

I'm not really concerned about it because I just use "teaser" bullet points and other bits of info to encourage viewers to visit my site to get the rest of the information. I suppose I might want to make sure my content is indexed on my site first if I'm also using any of it for my videos. Other than that it shouldn't be a problem. Not for me anyway.

Yep. They can't transcribe a video with no voice in it -- that's impossible. This is why having content in your video is important. You can bet if they are doing transcriptions of every video they are using that data in some way or another to help rank videos.

I don't know if this was just coincidence but just today I did a
Camtasia video for a product and it showed an MLM ad when
I played back the video. I didn't mention or use the word in the
video description but the headline of the page did mention "home
business". So I guess they can "scan" the pictures as well.

As far as I know it only allows you to submit it while uploading videos. Itself it does not. In earlier times this feature was not there https://www.prbuzz.com/business-entr...ific-tran.html

    Hello,

YouTube is not just a place for video blogs, animation or homemade movies; it can also be a place to upload your small business presentations, speeches or other events that you want the world to see. YouTube gives you the ability to add a transcript to any video, allowing you to display in text form what the speaker is saying. Transcribing a video is ideal for not only deaf or hard-of-hearing users, but also allows others to watch your video in a no- or low-sound environment. Once you create the transcript file, you must upload it to your video.

Transcribing a video is good for your visitors. Some visitors have hearing difficulties, so this would help them enjoy the video, and others may be unable to access the video because of slow internet speeds or other technical issues. I don't think Google would penalize you for doing this.

    Cheers

Yes it is true. they are doing it for quite a while.

Actually it plays a google part in rankings because youtube wanted to make sure that they give people the best user experience.

It defined and defines their actions right now and for years to come. They want to know what are you talking about so they can determine whether you are relavant for that keyword.

It is always wise to check their transcription though because it usually contains a lot of errors if your pronunciation is not perfect.

Yes they do... This is important to know, especially if you're using keywords in your video for ranking.

If you have a keyword rich script which you are using to speak over your video image, this could be the ideal solution to have Youtube transcribe the audio into text content. These videos will rank well in Google search (and video search both in Google videos and Youtube search). No reason not to implement this as it's still available for free to use.
