Is Facebook Dead? what is your favourite Social media platofrm

I find Facebook a dead platform for the kind of stuff I am posting. And in fact I have found that friends of mine are deserting the place in droves. I guess empires can only last so long. I even wrote a post on it yesterday to see what people thought.

Facebook is dead - long live social media

What do you think?

Instagram is the new big thing. Get onto that. Seriously - why do you think all the celebrities are now setting up Instagram accounts instead of Twitter? More exposure!

Instagram is definitely growing and is a good opportunity for internet marketers, but it will never be better than Facebook or Twitter for free marketing. You are limited to posting on photo descriptions on Instagram but with Facebook you have a lot more options and opportunities to connect with followers.

I hate Facebook 'cause it's greedy, there's no decent way to get free traffic from it. Though it's great as a PPC platform. My favorite social networks are YouTube and Google Plus. To communicate with close friends and for dating - VK.

Dead? are you dreaming or is just another way of "link baiting" or hits? does your favorite social network come anywhere closer to visitor count of facebook? if not then do you think it will in the near future (1-2 years?). Have you COMPLETELY stopped using FB? When you say "deserting in droves" .... can you backup your claim that FB country wise data has been hit badly?

c'mon ... don't post for the sake of posting or getting hits. Need some clear and well researched stats from comscore etc

Facebook is not dead or dying.............each social network has its Pro's & Con's.

All depends who and what you marketing and where you find the best traffic etc

Have a great weekend and like I keep saying do your research, more research, planning then implement with patience. Things won't happen overnight !!!!!

Each social network has to be used in the way it was intended. For example, Twitter never set out to "beat" Facebook because it's apples and oranges.

The trend right now (I think) is still infographics (people need pictures with their words.) And the only sites those work well with are Google Plus, Facebook, and Pinterest. I have zero experience with Instagram, so they may work well there, too. However, with Twitter and LinkedIn, they suck.

If anything, I'm finding that with my personal blog and my clients' websites, Google Plus and Facebook are the only ones helping drive traffic.

Facebook certainly has the numbers, I will give them that, but it has reached it's peak and is in decline. I mean seriously, they have the world in their hands and what are they doing with it - 200m profit in one quarter? really. And shares that dived by 50% since IPO. Look at LinkedIn. That is taking off - still.

Numbers from Com Score. Well numbers are numbers, I am just talking about a trend.
teens don't take it seriously anymore - and they are the next wave of users.
Adults never really got over the openness of it all.

Sure for now it's a great place to spam people's timelines with ads, but how long will it last.

Each Social medias has their own advantages and disadvantages... Most probably many will move on their like to Facebook. Facebook gives many information and mostly help to increase the traffic for whatever links you post because most of them are nowadays hanging over in Facebook only

It's clear Facebook isn't dead and I'd consider that a rhetorical question. Show me something that will replace it like Facebook did with MySpace that will magically be the big competitor which appeals to especially the younger generation(s). Google Plus doesn't cut it (yet).

If your not using FaceBook something is seriously wrong. You can use Free or Paid methods to generate well over a full time income on FaceBook.

The #1 rule to sales is to create relationships, Know/Like/Trust and FaceBook socially does that on auto-pilot for you. If you know how to engage your audience, provide value and grow your audience, FaceBook is a gold mine.

If traffic is the only thing there are still better options available than Reddit etc, but what is important is that target audience is mostly on Facebook, you can't see any better insights of your campaigns like you do in Facebook, so it's always a better option to market your product where the traffic is actually buying anything from you.

Well, Facebook is dying to me.

My page http://facebook.com/glutenfreeworks (remove link if improper) with 115,000 likes saw it's organic reach divebomb the day after I finished my first test ad campaign on March 12. I had over 200,000 people engaged. It was 117,000 yesterday. Now you can see it is just 85,000. 4,000,000 weekly reach is now 600,000 and dropping every day. After a week of testing, I am 100% positive the trigger was advertising. It seems once they think you're a business, it doesn't matter how much your fans like your content. Facebook won't show it to them. I'm a blogger who makes part of my money through Adsense so traffic is key.

I just called Facebook advertising to inquire about advertising programs - $1,500 for a month campaign to reach 200,000 to 250,000. I read that Facebook execs are saying organic reach could hit zero eventually. It's a shame, but now I only plan to advertise individual products and not worry so much about growing the page. Why grow likes if your people can't see your posts? There's no point in wasting the time. I'm putting together info products to sell and that is what I plan to advertise on Facebook. That and growing my e-mail list.

To anyone reading this post who grew their page organically - DO NOT ADVERTISE ON FACEBOOK.

Damn straight that money ppl are feeding fb is going into Zuckerbergs pocket who is bankrolling leftist organizations esp those pushing illegal alien amnesty! Thats a fact look it up heres one example

fb has shifted and now reduced fan page reach to just 1%!

      http://www.webpronews.com/facebook-i...n-more-2014-03

      http://valleywag.gawker.com/facebook...pay-1547309811

This is Justin Biebers current stats "63,851,581 likes · 874,341 talking about this"; I'm using his page, and I don't care if you like him or not, as an example to show it doesn't matter who you are that fb is blocking EVERYONES content from reaching their fans! His page is just shy of 64 MILLION followers but only 874K are talking about his page. That means only 1.3% of his followers are engaged... maybe(some are sharing, posts have been "seen" and some comments here and there).
Lady Gaga: 63,593,028 likes · 513,738 talking about this
      Rihanna: 86,036,216 likes · 424,788 " " "
      Barack Obama: 39,356,001 likes · 533,581 " " "
      Red Bull: 43,070,447 likes · 383,015 " " "
      Coca-Cola: 80,173,020 likes · 707,189 " " "
Whether you have 5000 followers to 86million the site is blocking page owners content like us to high profile celebrities from getting out.

I need 50K hits a day on 0 budget! Suggestions? (I know its impossible but just as I was starting to make a few bucks from fb traffic it dried up so now I like many am screwed!)

Twitter did go public last year, but there are only rumors about whether they will charge for "commercial" oriented tweets in the future. Right now the biggest rumor seems to be that they might ban "adult" type accounts. Adult meaning the 4 letter word that begins with p and ends with n.

Reach has plummeted, gone off a cliff the last couple of months. Average reach is now 2% for pages with 500k followers or more. TWO PERCENT. Think about that and let it sink in before you spend a dime on building up a page. For all practical purposes, FB is dead for affiliate marketers looking to build pages.

Facebook is far from dead. It's a matter of paying attention to what their strategies and TOS are and constantly modifying what you're doing to match them.

Look at Facebook as a big billboard the size of the Moon. Everyone everywhere can see it and can't avoid it. Sometimes it's a half Moon, sometimes it's a full Moon. Putting your ad or promo on it and keeping it there means people will see it and reach for it.

The problem is people abusing the system as people will ordinarily do and that pisses off Facebook as it makes them liable for their crap.

Do the honest job and you'll gain from Facebook.

Think of Facebook as being a billboard as big as the Moon.

Sometimes it's a half Moon and sometimes a full Moon. Your presence is going to be
seen no matter what but that calls for an ethical presence. So many scammers
and hucksters all over FB now that you can't keep things stable as FB is up against

Best thing is to do is keep on top of their TOS and strategies and be honest

Your friends might be leaving it in droves, but there's more and more people hopping on... and it's only getting bigger.
