I'm going into 2 niches. Should I have 2 sets of social media accounts?

Hi folks,
I've carried out a search for this info, but although I've found some similar threads (like this one: http://www.warriorforum.com/social-m...book-page.html), I feel that I haven't quite found what I'm looking for.

I have set up my Social media accounts some time ago now... Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Gravatar accounts (using the same email address), which I want to use to help me get folks interested in my blog...

... However, I find myself in the situation where I might have 2 blogs, in 2 completely different markets (let alone "niches" or "sub-niches"). One blog for one market, the other blog for the other market.

Q: Should I create a new set of Social media accounts (presumably using a different email address) to serve my other blog, or not bother?

I intend to use my real name/ID for the marketing of each blog, and not use a Pseudo ID etc. ... I understand that you can operate multiple pages under 1 facebook account (tho I've never really delved into this properly)...
... So, if you're knowledgeable about Social media, I'd really appreciate if you could share your view as to whether or not it might be OK to just use 1 FB account, and have multiple pages for different niches.

Thank you for reading.

I think I am in a similar situation. One IM blog and one gambling blog. I personally have two sets of social media accounts.

      Hi GoldDust, thanks for posting
      - are you concerned about Facebook banning one of your accounts (I think they might only permit one account per person. I'm still trying to understand this) ... or do you use a completely different Name / ID?

I'm pretty sure with FB pages, you can choose to remain hidden as admin so it will ONLY be showing the FB Page name... So no point having more than one ? I have 14 FB pages on my personal fb account, never been a problem with people like ":O YOU PROMOTE THIS AND THAT ?!"

So i assume they have never noticed, or its just not shown

      Thanks for posting Kai,
I guess if you don't have to show a connection between your Page and your Personal account, then this solves the problem.

Ideally, visitors for one niche would go to my relevant page, and they wouldn't be distracted by links to my personal stuff - or other niche pages, unless I added the links manually.

If you're not sure what your visitors see when they go to your page, I guess you could try to visit while not logged in (actually, that might not work?), or if that doesn't work - try an alias account, or get a friend to log in to their account and send you a screenshot?

I will have to delve into this FB Page stuff... I do lack FB experience.

When you create a page, and visit that page with the account you made it on

You then actually post AS THAT PAGE so anything you share would go on that page as the page name

        for example

My name is Kai my company is Flawless

I go to the flawless page and share a link relevant to my niche

        "Flawless Shared ****"

        "Flawless Says : Hey Guys"

        etc, see what i mean

Thanks for explaining. This makes a lot of sense, and I'm relieved to hear about the independence / separateness of the FB Pages, as this sounds like it could be the solution I'm looking for... at least as far as FB is concerned.

What do you do for Twitter, Google+ and Gravatar pictures etc?

That sounds like a good saying - and v relevant for internet marketing.
... I would like to put my focus onto just one niche - but the thing is, they might have to connect with one another at one point.

One niche will be "Internet Marketing" ... but the other might be "Health" -but promoted via MLM, so the two might cross-pollinate somewhere.

Also, one might be more successful than the other, and at this stage (the beginning) I don't know which one that might be.

          Hi, ... Different accounts?
... Please can you tell me... What do you think are the advantages of using different FB accounts (presumably with unique email addresses) if FB Pages are completely independent? ... Do you use this method?

The Facebook Pages are sounding more and more like the solution. I agree with your view on irrelevant content - I want to avoid this like the plague.
... As for cross-promotion, in my case - this might happen (see my cross-pollinate para, above).

The other matter is Twitter, Google+ and a Gravatar image & account, etc.
I am wondering how it's best to handle this.

Hi again, While researching setting up a FB Page, I've actually just encountered a potential problem... I've been searching the internet for advice regarding whether to Log-in to my personal FB account, while creating a FB Page, and feel that I still haven't found an answer that makes me feel happy enough to proceed.

The reason: With some WP plugins (like "Social") and possibly other third party services(?), there seems to be some problems with connecting directly to a FB Page, and a user is forced to connect to FB personal account instead.

Does anyone know, is there a disadvantage to connecting to your personal FB account while creating a FB Page? ... If I set up a FB Page without logging in to my normal FB account, will that give me a separate login (email) for the FB Page, to avoid any connection problems between different sites?

I have pages in embarrassing niches linked to my main account. It's hidden, you're safe.

Not really. I have several niches that I handle in my one and only account. For example, if I have a fan page about dogs, and if I want to post or contribute something to other relevant FB pages and groups, I go to my fan page and click "Edit Page" dropdown and select "Use Facebook as [fan page name]". Do this on your other niche fan pages as well.

Thanks guys, I guess it's safe to have my FB Pages linked to my personal account.
... Tho do you find that you're able to connect to individual FB Pages from outside FB, like when using Hootsuite, etc?

Also, you mention that you're in multiple niches, in that case - do you use multiple Twitter, Google+, Pinterest accounts etc?
