I'm looking for ideas to monetize a few Facebook pages I have. What are your best money-making tips?

It depends what kind of following you have... But ones that could work well are CPA competitions or dating and things like that.

The flavor of the month is teepspring.

Create tshirts with images or slogans your market will like and then market those tshirts to them.

So far they're rather small - a few thousand people. But the upside is that they're passion niches.

Could you expand a bit on your ideas?

Thanks, Will. That's actually the only one I'd heard of before posting this thread and it sounds like a good idea. I'll be implementing it soon.

I use my fan page just to run contests and use the contests to build a email list. I dont even worry about fans. Fans are not important to me as I have no interest in paying Facebook to 'boost a post' every time I want to send them all a message.

I don't believe Facebook pages are for monetizing directly. They are for building a community and relationships. Then, when you recommend things or use a signature at the bottom of a note, blog post, etc. your followers will buy because they trust you.

Not only that, I treat my fan pages as i do with my lists.

Its better on facebook, due to the system they have there that reminds people to look on on your facebook page if they have forgotten to view it in a few days. That is awesome, and you can take advantage of that.

I find that you try and keep the fan page subscribers there, then you....

      1) Create viral stuff for them, so they keep coming back, and you are building trust, as you said.

      2) Try to sort the wheat from the chaff, and get the really keen subscribers on a list.

      3) If someone buys, look after them even more and put them on a separate list and offer them help, and more stuff to buy in the $27 - $97 range.

no 3 is a big tip as in one of our animal niches on facebook we were able to bring in $4137 USD in just a few days one one affiliate product.

I like to do 10 UPDATES with content, and for every 10 content or cool posts, do one plug!!!! That seems to work very well for us.

Building a fan page base with 200,000 likes can happen pretty fast, for very cheap, if you are willing to test your ass off, and spend a bit of cash. Its well worth it.

Like Will posted above, Don is seemingly the best at monetizing Facebook. He has shown how to do this with several strategies. T-shirts was the most interesting. You just have to pick a passionate niche. Remember, your page will be separate from your main account, so you can create many different pages on different topics and test. I personally think the viral nature of Facebook has far greater potential than link building, websites, etc. Just my opinion.
