Has anyone noticed a drop in traffic from Pinterest ?

Has anyone noticed a drop in traffic from Pinterest. My traffic has dropped by almost 50%.

Also they are shutting down accounts very quickly without much explanations.

I've also noticed that the pinning on group boards has decreased a lot (apart from the spammers..)

Yeah I've noticed this within the last month. I've gotten less repins and less traffic.

I'm part of like 4 big group boards and it seems like only there's only a handful of us pinning.

I'm still getting decent traffic but not as much

If you check the contributors, I think a lot of them have been de-activated. I have a board that went from 200 pinners to less than 20.

Pinterest is burdened with huge service providers. They create accounts, pins, follows and do some aggressive jobs. In most cases theses accounts live for long, they quit or their accounts get terminated soon after their task completion.
So, don't get puzzled to see a drop.

I'm not yet quite where you're at on the daily unique visitors, but I haven't noticed a dip in traffic either.

Averaging 350 visitors a day from Pinterest this month.

Averaged 292 per day last month

          Yeah,

It's certainly not my top source of traffic, but every little bit counts.

It is my 2nd best source of traffic, but a very distant 2nd to Facebook

Depending on the niche, you can get a boat load of free traffic from Pinterest.

My goal is to be at 1000 per day by the end of the month.

With Pinterest you can get loads of traffic but the conversion is just terrible in comparison to Facebook . Don't just look at the traffic but also look at the quality

It depends on the type of site. If it's just a content site where you get revenue from adsense, leads, and banners - its good traffic.

Not sure how it is if you're direct response selling straight off of Pinterest as I don't do that.

I'm like to add this query.
I know pinterest is good for traffic. But does this traffic really convert? If so, then what's the conversion ratio?
I mean, if you get 1000 uniques then 8-10 sales should be the goal. That's about 1% conversion. Obviously conversion and traffic will vary based on landing page and niche.
But what's the average according to your previous result?

Pinterest can be good for adsense (but even there you would struggle to get more than 2% CTR)
About sale of products - if you can achieve 1 sale per 1000 visitors - I would consider it as a great success. Pinterest users are mostly jumping between websites so they have very short attention span. They are not targeted traffic.
You may get other responses from other people but most of them are selling Pinterest related products. So they may "beautify" their results. I don't sell anything and it's all based on my experience.
Also Pinterest are deactivating accounts pretty quickly nowadays.

8-10 sales from 1000 uniques isn't always the case. It depends on the traffic.

I dont get that from media buys and banner buys for high converting products, but I also don't live by your logic. I'm all about ROI and if it takes 1000 uniques to make 1 sale, I don't care so as long as I make at least 2x what I spent to get the traffic.

As far as conversions on Pinterest go, see my post above. It all depends on what u want.

May I know what are you guys' practices for posting pins linking to your own websites? How often per day to get up to that level?

Usually any time I add new content to my site, I add it to pinterest.

            Sometimes I forget.

I don't spend more than 3 or 4 minutes a day on Pinterest if I spend any time at all on there.

The only time I spend any more time than that on Pinterest is if I'm looking for content to share on my blog or looking for specific kinds of boards.

Your accounts never get banned ? Are you sure ? Here is what you've posted on 3/7/2013 : "They don't ban you they always deactivate your account..
First time they deactivated my account saying some contributor pinner posted pin that violates their term or was not allowed to share by owner.
Upon request i got my account back..
The second time they deactivated , i thought they would again activate my account giving warning, this time they did not activated, and my account was lost for ever..
Reason was contributors were pinning spam on my group boards which i owned

Having said that, good luck with your account, if it is regarding group boards then you will be in some trouble otherwise they usually activate your account"

And BTW that was mistake on pinterest side not mine, since then they have stopped banning users on account of group pinners activity

I haven't noticed a drop in traffic at all. I've hardly been pinning anything myself lately but my pins are still being re-pinned and the traffic keeps coming.

I've noticed that a lot of the spam accounts have been removed by Pinterest. YAY!

Like some others have mentioned, it might just be because of the recent removal of a lot of spam accounts.
