SOCIAL NETWORKS

From your experience.. what is bringing the most likes per $ spent.. Facebook ads (get more likes) or to promote a post?

Definitely ads. No doubt about it. I'd imagine promoted posts are more for directing users to links, although I haven't had much success with them

  I never try to promote a post but my intention is to do it. Anyway for few bucks can try to see what will happen.
  Best think is to try, forget what other tell you about it because maybe what works for them will not works for you and vice versa.

Promote a post all day every day. At least that is my experience after spending tens of thousands on FB ads.

  I mean a Like campaign is designed specifically to get Likes
  
  A promoted post is designed specifically to get engagement on a post, which leads to hopefully shares, likes, comment, and hopefully clicks wherever you want people to go.
  
  You'll get likes by default. Even with promoted posts, I've gotten likes on some campaigns for .02 - .05 per like.
  
  I can live with that.
  
  Although, likes are not at the top of my list of what I want from my promoted posts, but I get them anyway.

Definitely ads, unless what you're promoting is VERY sharable. Even then a significant amount of likes are not guaranteed.

Do ad's and test different images and copy,
