Facebook Pages Question

I'd rather keep my personal Facebook separate from my business side of things. Instead, I think I'd use a different Facebook account, even though I know Facebook doesn't like that.

Do you have a separate Facebook account? If so, do you use a different persona? I also wonder if we would be allowed to create another account, just for business purposes (much like the big companies do).

The whole point of a fan page IS to keep your personal separate from your business and its not that Facebook does not like that, its that they dont permit that. Want to spend 6 months building up an awesome fan base and relationship with your fans just so Facebook will delete your page and ban you because you didnt follow the rules?

By the way, how do you know that the 'big company's' make special Facebook accounts? You dont. Your just assuming that. How do I know that you dont know it? Because there is no way to know who's account a fan page is created under since as I said the point of a fan page is to keep it separate from your personal.

Follow the rules my friend, there is no reason what so ever not to.

You don't have to create a Personal Profile to create a Facebook Fan Page.

And he's right - people can't see who the Admin is anyway, if you DO create it while logged in to your already established personal account. Unless you LIKE your Page yourself, of course.

You will be posting as page admin (name of page) so it should not really be a problem. However, if you prefer, you can sign each post with a pseudonym to protect your privacy. Just write the name below each post. If you are really worried someone from your real life will discover your page, don't like the page or it will appear on your timeline.

No one can recognize the admin behind the page, it's very safe and easy to use it with your own personal account.
