Creating Images For Facebook Ads Better Than Stock Images?

Hi,

so im wondering if people get a better CTR with custom photos. I am promoting dating offers and wonder if my CTR would go up using a model I hire. What do you guys think?

Because of your ability to get what you want via your own photography, I'd say hiring a model could be a good route.

I'm not sure how much of a difference it would make though.

  • Corey,

I agree with tritrain. I’m sure any benefit would be marginal unless there is something so compelling that you can make yourself that can’t be found in stock images. I would say that you have more control over the image and people do tend to recognize crappy stock images. I would say focus more on your value proposition and stick to the basics when it comes to images.

    Best,

    Shawn

Using a model that hasn't been seen often in different advertisements could work for you provided that the model can give a really good "come hither" look.

    Totally agreed.

The only problems with stock photography are that if the image is widely used, people will recognize it, and that a lot of stock art has a specific -feel- to it. If you use a stock place that isn't as well-known, or perhaps look for images which are good, but aren't downloaded often (and don't have that "stock photo" feel), you could possibly find some "unique" gems to use for much less time and money than paying a model to do a shoot.

Me, too. I prefer that you use your own images because you have total control on what you are going to do with it. Stock images tend to be overused and that's a turn off for many people. With your own images, it's a breath of fresh air and people will be more likely to check you out. When I' in Facebook, I don't check photos that are common or that I've already seen. I always go for those that are original and different.

Your best bet is going to a photo site and buying one.

Since you only need a photo that is about 100x100, that will cost you only a buck or two...

      From there...

Throw your picture in paint and stroke it, twist it, or turn it to catch your targeted audiences eye

The main goal of your picture is to make it STAND OUT
