FB Ads : Should I Build a List or Sell Product Directly?

Hello Everyone. I have been reading and reading. Researching & researching and I'm finally confident to take action.
My question is, do you recommend me building a list with facebook ads, or just using my ads to promote the product directly?

Out of the two options, definitely build a list. I think creating a Facebook page and driving traffic to the page would be even better though.

By sending traffic directly, you only get one bite at the cherry. Possibly you might get lucky and some will buy, but then you'll never have a way of contacting those buyers again.

By building a list it may take longer getting sales, as initially you are gaining the trust of your list, by sending them useful free information. Then when they know, like and trust you, you can intersperse your information emails with ones recommending products that will help them. Further on you can segment your list into those who are buyers and those who haven't bought yet. Perhaps changing how you approach each segment of your list.

An autoresponder is a powerful tool.

        Kind regards

Definitely build a list. And build your business in a way that you can both sell your own product and also promote other people's products as an affiliate. Don't do just one or the other.

Here's a proven 5 step formula you can follow.
    1. create a product and/or find a few product to promote as an affiliate.
    2. set up a website targeted for people who want to buy these products.
    3. entice visitors to submit their email addresses to subscribe to your email list.
    4. use an email autoresponder to send series of newsletters promoting the paid products.
    5. set up a traffic campaign (more than one source) to get visitors to your website who want to buy these products.
There's obviously more to it, but this is the most popular and time-tested method to making money online. And its what most of the gurus out there are teaching.

    Hope this helps. Cheers.

    ALWAYS build a list first.

By building a list of subscribers you create a long-term asset.

Your tribe is THE most important asset / leverage point in your business.

We're currently generating leads on Facebook for $1 per subscriber.

I personally like to invite people to a free webinar. I then use
LeadPages to create the opt-in page and they're automatically
added to both my list AND the webinar.

    Cheers,

    Kim

  • Always choose to build a list, for many reasons that I will try to let you comprehend below:

    1) A list is forever, if you can establish a good and constant connection with it (send free tips, gifts, and so on while you promte). you can promote on daily basis.

    2) Second thing, creating a list is easier than selling a product to people you don't know.

    3) As third point, for your list you will spend less than for ads.

I hope to have convinced you that a list is always better than selling via ads

    See you soon,
    Alessandro

In regard to "lists" and FB, are you guys talking about "likes" to your page? And then marketing to the people who have liked your page?

    List building.

It means you still have those contacts that you can sell products too later on down the line. I also find it easier to sell to people on your list once you have a solid relationship with them and have got their trust.

      I would actually recommend neither..

      And this is why.

You are probably going to be paying a bunch more when you strive to build a list or promote a product through FB ads (especially depends on your niche).

(Some of the numbers posted above prove that, too)

If you build up a fan page, you can get dirt-cheap targeted clicks, and once you start posting pictures with you links in them, you can then build your list AND sell your product for free.

And the kicker is that if you post shareable images that your fans like, you can your money links seen by millions.
