Wow awesome results!

I started testing reddit two weeks ago and I get good results so far (not like yours, but still

).

But I can't seem to understand how to put the thumbnail when submitting a post :confused:

When I post on reddit thumbnails are created automatically from the picture in the post.

I submitted on Reddit once it took my image as thumbnail. My post had not less than 10 images, but Reddit took the featured image as thumbnail. I guess ( not 100% sure though) if you are using WordPress ( I bet you are ) , then the featured image of a post will be taken as post thumbnail on Reddit.

Wow, congrats on that. I completely agree about social networks. Especially ones like Reddit where they don't like being marketed to, you should get involved with them (not just for the sake of marketing as they can give great insight and advice also).

He must be active on Reddit because they don't take kindly to newcomers in general, and especially not to newcomers who post OBL to their own blogs.

This is a good case study, but it isn't the norm. When I posted articles from my blog on Reddit, I'd get 30-50 uniques, but not 1000+.

Either way, give it a go.

Depends on subreddit. The trafffic is slow on some of them, and there are tons of readers on the others.
Also it depends on how redditors like your link. If they downvote it you won't get much traffic.

How many likes do you get and how active is the subreddit? If you aren't liked then you aren't getting much traffic, but if people like your content you will get huge traffic in active subreddits.

Wow, this is awesome. I got banned once when I posted something irrelevant to the discussion. My bad. So I never bothered going there again except to participate in discussions from a different account. But this is great.

Ok I'm going to try this and I will post a screen shot after I post on Reddit. Never used this site before.
Another one I have heard is imgur for artists, photographers, illustrators, graphic designers or even the basic marketers infographic can go viral on it at their peak time (according to my source) which is after 12(night). If anyone tries this, please post your results on this forum so we can see!

Reddit is great for free traffic but you have to be careful not to over do it!
- don't be posting non-stop to the same subreddit. Each one has its moderator and they can ban you for it
- try to use different accounts - when you'll be posting things only from your website you can be consider a spammer
- only post really relevant and interesting articles - you can get tons of traffic like this
- you'll have to do it over and over again because one post will give you a boost of 1-2 days and then it will go down again

Yep, reddit is the easiest way to get traffic... I've gotten as many as 8000 uniques in 1 day from a good post and regularly get 2000-5000 a day. However, this isn't easy traffic to sell to, or even to keep them coming back without having to post articles on reddit all the time. EDIT: In terms of getting banned, I think it is important to make sure you are active commenting etc. and not just posting links and disappearing. I don't buy the 90/10 rule, most likely, it is better to post good content every few days from 1 or 2 sources than dilute your stuff with a bunch of lolcats images.
